Re: Santa Anita 2019

Rewatching Hidden Scroll's last two starts, I'm just not buying horses coming out of Florida. Hidden Scroll looks unrateable. Code of Honor's time in the FOY wasn't anything special. If I had to do a Top 3 - 1. Omaha Beach 2. Game Winner 3. Improbable Similar to Steve Haskin's Top 3. The Baffert duo...

Re: Santa Anita 2019

I love that Omaha Beach is going to run in the Arkansas Derby. It probably means Mandella thinks less of Improbable and also means that this could be Mike Smith's likely Kentucky Derby mount. I think Omaha Beach can win again and defeat both of Baffert's top 3YOs. To me, Baffert keeping Improbable w...

Re: Kentucky Derby Top 5

Omaha Beach at #1. Don't care for the rest. I only care about making money on the winner. I believe we'll have another rainy Kentucky Derby knowing this year has been very wet across the country. Mike Smith already won it last year. Horse has a good early speed. I also want to see Richard Mandella f...

Re: 2019 Three-Year-Olds

This year's Kentucky Derby could end the winning streak for the favorites. 1999 - Charismatic, 30-1 2009 - Mine That Bird, 50-1 2019 - ? 2010 - Super Saver, 4-1 2011 - Animal Kingdom, 25-1 2012 - I'll Have Another, 15-1 We're due anyway. I don't see any horse that blows me away. American Pharaoh sti...

Re: The Rebel Parts I and II

Rewatched both races again and Drayden Van Dyke is love tapping and not pushing the horse hard enough in that last 1/16th. SMH. Bob, get these dumb kids off your horses and get someone way more proven and seasoned! Even Victor in these type of situations is better. There isn't much time to leave mis...

Re: The Rebel Parts I and II

I don't like playing what if scenarios but if the San Felipe was held at Los Al, Improbable would've won the race. It becomes a red flag when I have to look up the jockeys' careers through Wikipedia while their horses were odds-on to win but hadn't raced in months. Now it wasn't like Improbable lost...

Re: The Rebel Parts I and II

Just not my day. Good win by Omaha Beach.

Game Winner didn't run a bad race by any means. I'll regard him higher than Improbable for sure. No Baffert horse is my #1 right now.

Re: The Rebel Parts I and II

I got #2 Laughing Fox to win. Another exacta with Game Winner over him to break even. Mandella just isn't known to be a great shipper. Another #2 deja vu with a horse who has won at the track and should be flying late. Not making excuses for Improbable and Game Winner. The former just isn't good eno...

Re: The Rebel Parts I and II

Both Rebels feel like trap races. Closing Santa Anita ruined Team Baffert plans. They were training in SoCal and now they have to race in Oaklawn a week later than scheduled? That's why Game Winner is also vulnerable. He hasn't raced in awhile. I know one thing is for sure, Justify spoiled me last y...

Re: The Rebel Parts I and II

Well, that's a bummer. Crossing out Improbable now. That Derby future looks dead. I also expected more from Galilean but he's a first time shipper outside Cali.

Long Range Toddy had familiarity with the track. Now I'm going to try to upset Game Winner in Rebel B.

Re: The Rebel Parts I and II

https://www.horseracingnation.com/content/free_past_performances_pps ^ I will NOT be shocked if Galilean upsets Improbable and Omaha Beach upsets Game Winner. I'm not familiar with Improbable's jockey and his sire's AWD is poor. Galilean has raced twice since Improbable's last race. I love Richard ...

Re: Santa Anita 2019

When I found out Santa Anita closed a week ago, I was extremely disappointed. Now I won't go to the Santa Anita Derby because neither Game Winner and Improbable will be there. Then again, it saved me a trip to go there coming from Anaheim. I really like what Los Alamitos has done for the horsemen ou...

Re: 2019 Three-Year-Olds

If Game Winner, Improbable, and Instagrand are all there, the San Felipe next Saturday will be the prep race of the year. I haven't hyped up my boy, Improbable, only because it's still a long way. So many CashCall/Los Al Futurity winners never make it at the Derby gate. Until I see him entering one ...

Re: 2019 derby prep races.

Wake me up when the San Felipe and Rebel happens in two months. I wasn't a believer in Coliseum and we saw what happened in the Sham.

Florida Derby
Santa Anita Derby
Arkansas Derby

^ The only three preps worth paying attention to most of the time.

Gunmetal Gray is a nice-looking horse. Still wasn't impressed by the Sham. Coliseum just didn't fire.

Re: Accelerate vs Justify HOTY

If Ghostzapper can win Horse of the Year off four starts, Justify can win it off six. Justify is sorta like our Ghostzapper-version among Triple Crown winners except Justify ran six times in a span of 112 days. From Ghostzapper's '03 Vosburgh to '05 Met Mile, those six starts spanned nearly 20 month...
