Re: BC Pick and Analysis

For someone so smart, I'm not sure why you've bought into the idea that Chrome needs the lead. ;) ETA: That being said, from the 4 post he might, but we'll see I guess. I don't think he needs the lead, but I do think he wants it, and I'm not sure how willing he'll be to take back after he spent his...

Re: BC Pick and Analysis

Classic Alright, this is one of those races that confuses me more the more I think about it. On face value it's pretty straightforward, but I don't think California Chrome is invincible and I have absolutely no idea how to handle Arrogate. I think one of two scenarios happens: 1) Chrome and Arrogat...

Re: Breeders' Cup News & Notes - 2016

Perhaps the thinking re: Found is the turf will be rock-hard so might as well go to the dirt and give it a shot. Wouldn't it be something to see her whoop the American boys and give that crew their coveted Classic win? Considering Galileo and his offspring's complete lack of success on dirt, it cer...

I think it's significantly more likely that all the speed will set the race up for Chrome, who's only part-time.

He did. I loved that horse.
I appreciate Albert a lot more in hindsight than I did when he was racing. His run in the 2001 Classic was great.

Re: Stronach's $12-million race a go

Are they improving the rest of the card? I doubt people will pay $100+ if 1/2 the card is Maiden and Claiming races like this year's Donn card. Which brings up another question. Are they going to move all the other stakes races to the Pegasus card? Or is he putting the Pegasus with the Sunshine Mil...

It's looking like the pace may be insane, especially if Nyquist draws inside again. Am I going to have to bet on Mubtaahij again??

Re: Awesome Again

Apologies to Beholder I was thinking older males when I posted... 8-) No offense, but I don't consider Dortmund in the same category, and his number is up anyway. I actually almost didn't list Dortmund because I more or less agree with you but I also can't dismiss him because he is a legitimate rac...

I think Melatonin is on the shelf and won't make it. This morning: http://www.drf.com/news/preview/melatonin-sizzles-six-furlong-workout-breeders-cup-classic I sit corrected. I have much respect for Chrome and think he's a real solid horse (and a vastly improved one from 2014), but IMHO he appears ...

Re: Awesome Again

In regards to Exaggerator, I read a tweet that he was sent to WinStar for some 'R&R' so basically retirement in 3, 2.... Kind of a shame because he likes SA and would probably get a nuclear pace to run at in the Classic. But with the schedule he's had, not surprising that there isn't anything left ...

We don't even necessarily need to be talking about hitting the horse. He hardly even moved his hands until just outside the eighth pole.
