Re: The VENT Thread
Everybody move to Tampa! It is 85 degrees here right at this moment. Bring some snow! You can throw snowballs at me for telling you about it! I just took the dog for a walk. Wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Sure wish we'd get another cool-down like we did on Thanksgiving. :) I hear ya. I would like to...

Zaikov (3yo c, Distorted Humor-Wait A While), who won his only start very impressively back in March, returns in R6 at Gulfstream on Friday.

Re: Stronach: Eliminate Race Day Meds and Sport Will Flouris
As noted by other, tracks can not set medication rules, states do. All the more reason we need a National Governing body. But could his tracks card races where the conditions of entry were no race-day medications? You mean do exactly what the Breeders Cup did with lasix and two year old races? This...

Re: Happiness
We adopted Buddy, a chocolate Lab, last month and he is working out wonderfully. Our vet thinks he's 7 or 8. He makes this hilarious rumbly noise when he's really excited that is just a hoot. He and our other three dogs get along like they've known each other all their lives. So where are the pictu...

Re: Stallion News
Not sure where to post this, but dual Oaks winner Dancing Rain sold in foal to Frankel for $6,869,080 at Tattersalls today. Sheikh Mo was the buyer. http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/82252/dancing-rain-dazzles-at-tattersalls-mare-sale Not crazy about the 3x3 inbreeding to Danehill that...

Re: Time For A Change
I was fortunate enough to meet him at Three Chimneys in Oct 95. What a sweetheart...unlike his barnmate across the way, Dynaformer. We were scratching Time For A Change's forehead and I remember the groom telling us we would lose a finger if we tried that with Big D.

TVG is on...for those who have the channel. It's 602 on DirecTV. They just showed the stretch drive of the Clark, but not the whole race. If you can wait before you hear or read the results, I presume Bloodhorse will have a video of the race up on their site in a little while. The video is up: http...

Going to a restaurant on the beach for a buffet. It will be a little chilly for us (50s), but at least it will be sunny. Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Metro Meteor on NPR
Frank DeFord did a nice piece on Metro Meteor for his weekly segment on NPR this morning:

Metro has raised nearly $45K for retired racehorses-how awesome is that?

Re: Stallion News
He could have been a good source of stamina and a nice outcross for all the Mr. P and A.P. Indy bloodlines if he had stood at stud here. Never would have happened in a million years, though.

I can't access FB at work. Is it a matter of money, or is AHR trying to find space for him, too? If it's just money, I will be happy to make a donation for him. Unfortunately it isn't just a matter of money. He needs somebody who can pull him from the feedlot ($275, I think) and then provide a home...

Re: Sales/Rescues
If I had the money he would be coming home with me, he is such a cutie too. Those eyes are just pleading for someone to take him and love him. And to stand between him and more charros, between him and the meat man. I can't access FB at work. Is it a matter of money, or is AHR trying to find space ...

Re: First Winners
This thread seems like a good place to add that this year's leading first crop sire by earnings is Dunkirk. He has 126 2-year-olds, 39 to race and 14 to win. Pioneerof the Nile, who is second on the first crop list, has a far better percentage of winners to runners. He has 94 2-year-olds with 30 to...
