Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

Figarella's Queen ( MdO x Nereid ) is about to run in the 13th at Gulfstream, a 1-mile MSW on the turf for 3yo fillies. ETA: She won. Went to the front and improved her position. :D Had a nice kick in the stretch...did her mom proud. I remember Nereid, watched the replay if just to see what she loo...

Re: What does "stamp his get" mean?

Wonderful discussion. Thank you everyone. One reason I posed this question about stamping get aside from the fact that it has been a hard concept for me to fully understand, is that I like Gun Runner. I wish him well at stud, but don't see much resemblance between him and either his sire, Candy Rid...

Re: Pegasus World Cup Invitational - 1/27/18

Question.....if the Pegasus moves to Santa Anita...is the $30million dollar 110 foot tall Pegasus parking lot bronze sculpture part of the deal? Dear god, I hope not. That thing is UG-LY. I know grade-school kids who could sculpt better horse anatomy. The San Gabriel Mountains would shrink t...

Poor Unstoppable U . While they're are all sad, this one really frosts me: Starts: 45 Firsts: 13 Seconds: 7 Thirds: 3 Earnings: $375,202 Ran in the Belmont, a stakes winner, then down the claiming ranks to Finger Lakes then Camarero. It's everything I hate about racing that keeps nudging me away fro...

Re: In memoriam 2017

Favoured Speighgal (2014 f) at Gulfstream today in the Tropical Park Oaks. How horrible, I was not at the track today but was reading the results on Bloodhorse and noticed Bernadiva, Speighal wasn't listed in the results. Good that I've seen this before watching the replay (now I'll skip it). That ...

Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

Bernadiva (Bernadini x Evening Jewel) finished 5th today in the Tropical Park Oaks. Even though she's raced at Gulfstream before I never noticed a daughter of Evening Jewel in any races - really liked her mom).

Re: Clasico del Caribe

Ooh, I didn't realize the Serie Hipica del Caribe was at Gulfstream this year. It makes sense though, there's no way Camarero can host the event after all the damage it sustained from Maria. It was really a fun day, a lot of people flew in for the race and there was a large number of local Puerto R...

Clasico del Caribe

It rained heavy early and is still dreary but there is a huge crowd - other than for Florida Derby day I've never seen so many people here. A totally different vibe, fun atmosphere, but they're totally trashing the place.

Had 2 great days at the track, my only complaint would be the lack of food choices available unless you made it to the infield which was quite a hike. It was packed today but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Re: TBC Breeders Cup Watch Party/Discussion Thread

Also, this is not news at all, but holy hell Del Mar is in such a beautiful setting Waaaaay too many empty seats on that grandstand and apron. Apparently it was practically a ghost town on Friday, slowly filling up today but nowhere close to Churchill or Keeneland. From where I'm sitting it looks p...

I don't think flying between coasts again did her any good today. I assume she's staying for the Zenyatta then Distaff at Del Mar and hope she rebounds being at home.

It does seem mental to me. Maybe that Dubai win hurt more than it looked and he doesn't want to exert himself that hard again, I think he could've won that race if he really wanted to.

Re: Zenyatta News

Sad. I wonder if one of them retains rights to the racing stable, the breeding stock and/or they get to pick and choose? I honestly have half wondered if this is why Coz is still training/running. He's an asset to be divided in the divorce (which tbh, he needs to be gelded and made into a nice hunt...

Re: Whitney (G1)

Steve Asmussen said the Woodward here on 9/2 is a real possibility for Gun Runner. Would give him 9 weeks to the BC Classic. A possible for Arrogate too... which would be good for NYRA. Doesn't everybody want that? At least Baffert knows Arrogate likes Saratoga. Del Mar??? Don't know about Del Mar ...

Sorry to hear they are divorcing, kind of surprised even though it looked like they were divesting their interest in their stock, the guy is 82 (why bother?), gonna assume he's got something else going on - glad to see Ann will keep updating on Z. Regardless of what's going on, they really have been...

Is there a replay somewhere? Calracing.com has all CA replays for free the day after the race. Some, but not always all, can also be found on Bloodhorse sometime after as well: https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/race/USA/DMR/2017/8/2/4/race-4-msw-at-dmr-on-8-2-17 By coincidence they had Zenyat...
