Re: The Japan Cup (G1) 2014

 And here I was all happy for Epiphaneia & watched the race feeling kind of safe because it was in Japan and not the US, so I wasn't as paranoid about a breakdown... and yet both here and in the Melbourne Cup to find out there was a tragic aftermath just really knocks the stuffing out of you. P...

Re: The Japan Cup (G1) 2014

Wow, what a commanding finish by Epiphaneia! (whee!)

And that crowd... can't imagine 100,000 people. Amazing how the big races in Japan bring out the fans.

Try this one: http://www.time4tv.com/2014/01/at-the-races.php They just switched over from Australian racing to Japan. 8-) The horses are in the walking paddock. ETA: All the big names look really good... Haarp Star is lovely and Epiphaneia looks strong and relaxed. I like Tosen Jordan so much and I...

Re: California Chrome to contest Hollywood Derby

Does anyone know the final time and the splits? Before he is crowned 3 year old HOTY (or not), Isn't it important to know if he ran solid quarters or just fast enough to beat a mediocre field? These are from the drf.com results: Times in 5ths: :23 2 :46 4 1:11 2 1:35 3 1:47 4 Times in 100ths: :23.5...

Re: The Japan Cup (G1) 2014

Thank you Tachyon! I was puzzled. I did see that TVG has a two-hour block for international racing from Japan from 9:30pm PST - 11:30pm PST (and then from Hong Kong afterward) so it's good to know the post time.

Re: The Japan Cup (G1) 2014

I like too many horses in this field to choose just one. Or two or three.

I saw the PDF says post time 10:05? Is that the reverse of our/US time, like with the date? So 5:10pm?

Re: California Chrome to contest Hollywood Derby

With this horse in peak form... Do you look to the Malibu next? Or stop on him for the winter and cross your fingers for the Eclipse? They'll probably stop on him and I have no idea why That is why I am asking the folks here... Including you... Since we all know they will stop. If YOU were the trai...

The filly got up for second... wonder if Nakatani's extra weight made any difference? She dug in but Chrome was definitely going easily at the end...

Anyone watching TVG - did they just show the Hawthorne Gold Cup? I'm trying to figure out if the stream I found will be showing the Hollywood Gold Cup next-ish.

*crosses fingers* ;)

ETA: nevermind, I can see the TVG logo on the commentator's mic.

Re: California Chrome

LOL ITA about the onion crunchies... Although I made roasted baby brussels sprouts (with a little yellow onion & garlic) and they were yummmmmy. I saved the green beans (naked thank you, no icky creamy gravy) for leftovers. 8-) That pic of Chrome galloping is lovely. I hope he does well.
