Re: Remsen

For those who care what the guy who actually rode Honor Code had to say: "I didn't put him up there; he put me there," Castellano said of Honor Code's move to prompt the pace. "The way he ran the first part, he showed me more speed and was more comfortable and relaxed. I felt the pace was slow. The ...

Re: Arc winner Treve named European horse of the year

Well deserved award for this lovely filly. I really enjoyed what George Strawbridge said when accepting the award for Moonlight Cloud. He said a lot in a few paragraphs. From the article: American-based owner George Strawbridge traveled to London specially to collect the Cartier Older Horse Award, w...

Re: Remsen

@thinair and dustino140: If you actually think I was trying to give Shug advice, may I say that you've both helped demonstrate why communication between people is very difficult even in the best of circumstances. Posting on an internet message forum is a far cry from the best of circumstances, but ...

Never mind, I find it.
I hope that Silentio will be a G1 winner at some point!! :D
I hope so too. He's a nice horse. :)

Re: Remsen

Ouch. David Grening ‏@DRFGrening 10m Noble Moon , third choice on ML, scratched from Remsen after breaking out in hives Fri night and having to be treated, per trainer Gyarmati Awww, poor colt. Didn't something similar happen to Black Caviar's younger brother? Had an allergic reaction to meds after...

Re: Remsen

Honor Code has been awarded crazy BRIS late pace figures. He ran a 138, which is in Zenyatta territory. He was not passing tired horses. He caught Havana Just a split second past the wire in an 8f race. IMO, he needs more ground. This is what I'm hoping is the case. If he can learn to be just a lit...

Re: Remsen

Also, please stop lecturing me about trip handicapping. Pretty please. Actually, I'm not "lecturing" you at all. Not even one tiny iota. My whole interest in stating what I've posted is pretty darned clear, and that is my hope -- now saying it for the third time -- that Shug can get this colt to no...

Yes, he surely deserves it. Makes you wonder how good Take Charge Indy might have been in the Fall if his season hadn't been cut short by injury.

Re: Clark Handicap

I hope we do see WTC as a four-year-old, but if the owner really does want to sell the colt now, he's probably already entertaining serious offers, most of which would likely specify that WTC must go to stud next year.

Re: Remsen

Once again, he travelled only 20 feet more than the winner. That's what matters if you want to talk ground loss. Well, lacking the ability to travel across country and to the track, whip out my tape measure and calculate the distance HC traveled vs. the winner, all I can say is this...when a horse ...

Re: The rise of Sunday Silence

Dabirsim is beautiful and has a really nice pedigree. I like seeing top broodmares in a sire's pedigree. Dabirsim has Crimson Saint, dam of his maternal grandsire, Royal Academy. Crimson Saint also produced the great Terlingua, who produced Storm Cat. Terlingua's full brother was the major stakes wi...

Re: Remsen

When has Honor Code not broken well? There are two parts to breaking. The first is the instant the gate opens, and the second is those first three or four strides leaving the gate. In both his races, although he came out of the gate with the field, Honor Code showed no quickness leaving the gate. H...

Re: Remsen

There are several unknown factors in this race that make it a tough bet: Have any of these colts matured a bit quicker than the others? Have any advanced in their training and/or condition since their last race? Have any regressed since their last race? Has Honor Code's trainer figured out a way to ...

This picture was taken in Sept. Although I don't doubt you, the photo was posted on the Paulick Report along with the latest news about Nick. Re: Cozmic One

Looked like he might have had a little chemical assistance. When I wrote that he seemed a little subdue for a colt his age, I in NO WAY meant any such thing. They all have different personalities. Just like people, some equine kids are more boisterous than others. Coz might just have a quiet person...

Re: St Nicholas Abbey

Very sad news about the severity of his laminitis. I'm not qualified to know when the time comes to say enough and let them go, but if he isn't suffering and they are able to keep him comfortable, and if money is no object, then they have to keep trying. St. Nicholas Abbey in a photo posted on the P...
