At the other end of the older racer spectrum from the above mentioned Princesa Dorada , is 10yo millionaire and turf specialist, Hogy . Hogy is entered in the Colonel Power Stakes at the Fair Grounds this Saturday (2/16), after his 3rd place finish in the Frontier Utilities Turf Sprint at Sam Housto...

Re: The WAR HORSE Chronicles

I'm never particularly unhappy to see older horses continue to ply their trade - as long as they are healthy and sound, well taken care of, and still able to compete. Every once in a while, I'll see an entry that seems a little suspect. This coming Thursday at Camarero (2/14) sees the return of 13yo...

Re: The WAR HORSE Chronicles

Thanks so much Sparrow Castle, for the report on Straight Thunder ! We've sure followed him for a long time in this thread, and he was one that I was worried about - with all of that mileage. Sounds like he was about worn out and I'm grateful that he is safe now. Hopefully they get him back in compl...

Re: Jockey/Trainer News - 2018

Perusing the Laurel Park entries, I noticed that King Leatherbury has been missing for a spell. A little quick research finds that he is taking some time off - along with his horses - and will be back later in the season.

Re: The WAR HORSE Chronicles

Glancing back through some of the 2018 posts, I noted a few familiar names. Our newest member to the forum, Faith, has Dorothy’s Diamond retired to her farm, and another one of the ladies in our little group was able to obtain and retire Sons of Missouri and he’s at a small rescue enjoying retireme...

Re: Waiting for news on ...

I'd like to look at the fact that injured horses are vanned back to their barns from a more hopeful side. They get exams and various diagnostic scans done by their own vets. There are advancements in treatments for some injuries, so getting the horse back to their stall gives it a chance to be thor...

I'm going to go out on a limb and pitch an idea here, that we go back to discussing the 2019 Pegasus World Cup - keeping in mind that we do not always agree with the thoughts of other posters. Personally, I respect both stark and thinair, and am very appreciative of their thoughts, ideas and contrib...

Re: In Memoriam 2019

Londie Lou just broke down in race 10 at Parx. Watching her try to run on dragging her broken leg behind her makes it harder to watch racing anymore. She was a Woodbine girl, and was 3rd in the Ontario Debutante Stakes some years ago. Her only race away from Woodbine was today. A friend of mi...
