Re: Three-year olds - 2013

Hear The Ghost came in 2nd at HP today. Didn't look bad considering an 8 month layoff. Looking forward
to his 2014 campaign, although he may run once more before the year is out...

Re: Laz Barrera's son Larry dead @ 54

Very tragic. Sounds as though he struggled right until the end to pull himself out of the depths.
54 is much too young to depart...

Rest In Peace, Mr. Barrera.

That wasn't much of a career. Was he injured in his last race at Longchamp last year?

Didn't expect that - and sorry to see him go, although I'll continue to follow his career wherever he ends up.

November sure can be a disappointing time of year for race fans, and I've already had my share of it this season...

We knew it had to be coming soon! Congratulations and a big thank you to Catlaunch and his connections for a fun and exciting career. I really hope that he can go to Old Friends as it would be great for him and for his legions of fans who would love to visit him (like me!). Proud to say that I got t...

Also, Cool Coal Man retired from racing in 2010. He's just moving to another farm for stud duty - to
Journeyman from Hartley De Renzo - across the street...

Re: After the B.C.

Well. I guess it's about time for Brethren . He has been struggling. As for Jackson Bend , I thought they said that he would be racing in 2014? If it is back to the shed, I hope that he is able to cover mares this time around without the problems (pain) that he was experiencing before. Good luck to ...

Re: 2013 Report of Mares Bred

I know a few people on the board were wondering where Sway Away was. The question has been answered via the report - working his new job in California! Don't recall ever reading about his retirement from the track - just a layoff... He's standing alongside Smiling Tiger, Twice the Appeal, and Sierr...

Does seem a bit young. I thought A.P. Indy, at 22, was an early exit from the shed. What are some
other instances where major stallions have been pensioned in their teens or early twenties?

Happy retirement to Smoke Glacken...

The Marathon is a great and fun race - sorry for those who believe otherwise. How could anyone not be excited and moved watching old Calidoscopio circle that field last year - and just to show folks he meant business - there was the Brooklyn. I'm a fan of Worldly - and will be pulling for him... War...

He's a nice horse, to be sure. Has hit the board in every race - and I thought for sure that he was going to run
down Midnight Aria in the Queens Plate...

I always look forward to his races.
