Re: Black Thoroughbreds

Here's Goofalik (Lyphard x Alik, by Targowice), a MGSW in Germany and France who stood in Germany for most (if not all) his career. He was a champion first-season sire and passed away in May of 2013 due to heart failure. He had been pensioned at the time. Registered black/brown. https://storage4.rim...

@ Claudia Roschlak Here's an interesting one! Filly by Silvery Moon out of the quarter horse mare Lost My Sockstonite (Nite Chip). Based on what is posted on her All Breed Pedigree page, the dam was a champion in shows. https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/67901388_2746765128690911_42382558...

Re: American Pharoah's Children

It could be that her connections are looking to sell her for X reason, maybe ASAP, and they didn't want to go through the hassle of sale prep and application.

I'd say she has a good chance of getting claimed, too. Considering how hit American Pharoah is as a sire this week.

Higher Power dominated.

Draft Pick was second and Mongolian Groom was third.

What kind of G1 is this? Lol.

I've seen the name Blue Gazi pop up in colored pedigrees before I think...

I wonder if Livingston has any pics of him.

Re: Horrible Names For Horses

Cheeseburger ran at Ellis (IIRC) today.

There are some foods that just don't make good names.

Snow Cone? Yes. Chocolate Martini? Awesome. But Cheeseburger? Ugh.

Re: Well-known racehorses who went on to second careers

Overdriven was pensioned from stud duty by Repole and was adopted through New Vocations. So was American Lion, a MG3W who ran in the Kentucky Derby.

Interpol is now a stable pony for Doug O'Neil.

Part of me wants to say Max won't stand in Kentucky but another part of me remembers the "wtf" prospects who make it to Kentucky every year (i.e. Army Mule).

@ Spendthrift Australia Now this is interesting! A USA-conceived, Aussie-foaled filly by Into Mischief out of MGSP Flashy Gray (Flashy Bull). I assume they intend to breed Flashy Gray to a stallion down under. Wonder who? https://breednet.blob.core.windows.net/breednet/gallery/2019-foal-gallery/2019...
