Re: Other Racing: Quarters, Harness, Jumps

Great article, Northport. I enjoyed reading it, thank you for posting it. Tisbo's solutions are interesting, I would have never thought of those solutions for a difficult to fit horse.

Re: Other Racing: Quarters, Harness, Jumps

And she took him out to hunt in her exercise saddle too! Unorthodox - but gutsy! Fun to see. My ex used to trail ride our horses in his exercise saddle too, and his feet kicked out of the irons, unless needed - I always cringed and felt he may as well have been bareback- I always felt my saddles wer...

Re: What does "stamp his get" mean?

It is so neat to see these pictures. Thank you to all for posting them. Wonder how much Gun Runner will change appearance-wise when he becomes less race- fit looking, and becomes more "studdy" looking? I'm wondering if he will start to look more like dad? I have a Rock Hard Ten mare, who looks just ...

Re: Kodiak Kowboy Foals

Recondo finished 8th at Mahoning on the same day. I wish this boy could find a life away from the track- he struggles and hates track life. Former connections had him up for sale but he went to another trainer instead.

Re: In memoriam 2017

I'm not understanding why this is still happening- where is the industry support and rallying and fundraising for these horses like there is/ was for the SLR fire victims?? Is it because, for the most part, these are US racing industry cast offs that are beyond the usefulness for the connections tha...

This post has actually been going around Facebook for about 4 or 5 years. I can't believe it surfaced again. I had a friend send it to me again the other day. Iirc - all the horses are safe and have found homes.

Re: The WAR HORSE Chronicles

Wonderful to see the above list - hopefully they are all blessed with safe, happy retirements. One to add to the list - 9 yo Lady of Rivendell was claimed out of her 101st race by a wonderful group of ladies that were concerned she was running almost every week, usually finishing poorly. She was ret...

Re: In memoriam 2017

Funny that a horse could influence my life as much as Genuine Risk did - but being a young girl- she was my hero and proved a girl could be just as tough as the boys. I still need to get to Old Friends and see her last remaining baby. Rip Mr. Jolley- your filly made a huge difference in my life.

Re: Grand Reward Babies

Yes- I had gotten to know Classic personally- as a former trainer of mine owned him at one point - and I had even told Jeff Radosevich last year I would like him when he's retired - alas, it was never meant to be. Still heartbroken over him.

Ruth's Lotus broke down and euthanized in a horrific wreck at Mahoning today. Another horse fell over her and ran off after, and both jockeys taken to the hospital.

According to Bloodhorse - Warren's Crystalized was euthanized due to severe fractures of her front legs. It sounds horrible.

Re: Waiting for news on ...

Me too, WarBiscuit, especially because I had heard multiple horses were euthanized while racing that day at Thistle- so I was worried he was one of them. Kinda concerned though, that if he was injured that day- he's already back to work. Hopefully he stays safe.

Re: Jockey/Trainer News - 2017

This happened at Mahoning Valley a few years ago too, when a gelding won a filly/mare race. Iirc- the 2 were stabled next to each other and the groom got the wrong horse ready.
