Re: New Conformation Photos

Here's a recent one of Shaman Ghost . This one is better because he isn't on a photoshopped transparent background. Guy in the video describes him as being "just a tick over 16.2 HH." https://www.paulickreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/19_0925_Shaman-Ghost_mw_mw-1883.jpeg https://www.paulickre...

Re: Stallion News

It's good to keep in mind that while Cairo Prince was at a time one of the early / rising favourites for the Kentucky Derby, he injured himself in the Florida Derby - and never got the chance to win a G1, so he did not have the glittering resumé that Pharoah, Midnight Storm or Classic Empire had whe...

Re: California Chrome

Good camera for photographing races? I know this might be off-topic, but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good camera for photographing races? I've used my iPhone for simple snapshots, but I'd really like to have the capability of getting higher quality photos. From what I gather, one of the...

Re: Stallion News

No I think Treve meant forgetting to include Cairo Prince in the list of Empire Maker line stallions standing in the US. Bodemeister is the one supposedly going to Turkey, though only a Turkish news source has announced it so far. Yes thank you lol! As an aside, Cairo Prince is actually several spo...

Cairo Prince went4 to Turkey? :o I thought he had a good first crop. How long before American Pharaoh's results don't match his stud fee and.... .pick a Third World country! No I think Treve meant forgetting to include Cairo Prince in the list of Empire Maker line stallions standing in the U...

Re: Stallion News

Bodemeister had a decent ratio of runners to winners. However his SWs let alone graded stakes winners is rather low. Still I'm sure part of that can be accounted for the fact his closest male competitors probably raked in the better mares. You had his sire Empire Maker back from Japan, Pioneerof th...

And I'm here giggling at her name... Gotta wonder if she earned the name, or if the name was given in hopes she'd live up to it!

Re: Well-known racehorses who went on to second careers

Not exactly a well-known racehorse, but Kakadu , the dam of Pharoah's first foal, was pensioned from breeding due to reproductive issues and has found success in the show ring. Owner wanted to make sure she had a productive and active future. https://www.paulickreport.com/horse-care-category/dam-of...

Re: New Conformation Photos

I prefer Mendy's conformation while they were racing and although Justify looks a bit better than he did on the track conformationally, I still by far prefer Mendy. Better proportions, better balanced, better shoulder, better back, better loin, better hip. Most importantly he's extremely correct whe...

Re: Stallion News

Also, I hate to hijack the thread but is anyone else surprised by how much the Pharoahs seem to prefer turf? I mean, I figured he would get winners on both surfaces but I didn't think there would be this much of a disparity. I'm not surprised by it given some of the strongest broodmares with the st...

Re: 2019 Two-Year-Olds

Would have been quite the story if American Theorem, a son of American Pharoah had won the American Pharoah  Nonetheless I ain't mad, seeing as Eight Rings is a son of the Empire Maker himself. I was at Del Mar for the maiden breakers if both American Theorem and Express Train and I preferred ...

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

I don’t know why what Graham said matters? The limit is 75 and he had 300. It’s not like the 75 limit is measured different than Justify’s 300. He was wayyyy over the limit and if I read Tessa’s articles right that’s an insanely high level for just “accidental food contamination” I also stated that...

Re: Stallion News

Based on my visit to Ashford last year, there's a WHOLE lot of people who could buy the "American Pharaoh didn't bite ME!" T-shirts . :-). BTW I don't believe it either, but it it's true. . .kinda weird. :x Maybe AP can sense evil? Why does everything in our time have to be...you don't agree with m...

Re: 2019 Keeneland September

What do you mean by "feels like a publicity stunt"? Genuinely curious. If the reserve was that high, then it looks like they weren't actually willing to sell and part with the colt. I mean it could be that they genuinely decided they wouldn't let him go for less than a million, but it's impossible ...

Re: 2019 Keeneland September

That’s another one that I took care of too on the farm. So happy that both the Pharoahs the farm bred did so well. Congrats Summer Bird that's amazing! I can't imagine how thrilled you must be! Were they always this sweet as babies? The filly was actually quite spooky, but her mom isn’t the friendl...

Re: 2019 Keeneland September

Hip 923 is a filly by American Pharoah who's second dam is Magical Illusion who is also the second dam of Justify. Just missed the fireworks at 975 000$ Gorgeous filly. Pharoah is really stamping his babies with balanced structure and curious, calm demeanour. That’s another one that I took care of ...
