Re: Kentucky Derby : Do you agree with the stewards decision?

The thing is, it doesn't matter if Country House was directly impacted. If Maximum Security impeded any of the other horses he had to be DQ'd, and the rest of the horses moved up in placing. then should we not have inquiries every year, since the start is chaos and we've seen loads of horses impact...

Re: Kentucky Derby : Do you agree with the stewards decision?

The hottest takes of the day have to be someone saying "racing is dead" because of this and saying they shouldn't have done it because "a bum will be the winner." Similar scalding "takes" are the folks around here that are jumping ship because them rich people "robbed" them. Well, I wish people wou...

Re: Horse Racing is now officially a joke

I'm going to go against the grain here and say this decision is actually refreshing and my interest in racing took a hit after last year's Belmont to be perfectly honest. In spite of that I stuck around, even went down to see the Travers in person and got to spend a wonderful day at the races and ha...

Re: Horse Racing is now officially a joke

Ehhhh IDK. It won't be a joke. High drama = high intrigue = all good. The public's, and my, memory is bad. Does anyone even remember Jordyn Woods is a person (I do.. I want the eye-shadow palette to go on sale)?. Does anyone remember my father being the only person alive to wear Champion -- and now...

Re: 2019 Kentucky Derby

Can't help but think about horses who have been really effed over by the 20 horse fields -- Afleet Alex and Curlin somewhat come to mind, and lots others who get banged and cut off -- and this only drives it home more. That was scary AF at the top of the stretch, and everyone scrambling for the lea...

Re: Baffert now has the 3 shortest prices in the field

there was a horse at my barn who was chronically lame and they did a heel nerve surgery as a last ditch effort. It enabled him to have a sound light riding and leisure life after his owner retired him, and gave him added quality of life. It is also commonly used on horses with navicular disease and ...

Re: 2019 Kentucky Derby

Didn't Pharoah leave out of gate 17 anyway? So it's not true that it has 0 wins. I seem to recall even though he wore #18, he actually left from gate 17 because of a last minute scratch.

Re: 2019 Kentucky Derby

Everyone talks about the rail but let’s be real, post 14 has been the most vicious spot in recent years.
Here’s to hoping Win Win Win gets a little less brutally squashed than Classic Empire and Mendelssohn.

His early runners don’t have a whole lot of chrome that’s for sure :p
He got his first US winner today and first winner on dirt with Maven, out of Richie’s Party Girl plain chestnut!

Wow that news about Saturnalia gave me goosebumps! Will be cheering him on for the rest of the Japanese TC ;)

Tesorina a 2017 chestnut fully (American Pharoah x Nonsuch Bay) ran 3rd on her debut today at Aqueduct for Wesley Ward, on the dirt.

Neck pain could be anything, chances are it's something fixable with some rest for the next season.

Also nice name for the American Pharoah colt.

He also had an abscess and back problems while refusing to work before the Arkansas Derby. He came out of the Kentucky Derby with an injured eye and several abrasions then was immediately pointed to the Preakness. All of this happened before the Coolmore deal. He was in training for the Belmont whe...

Regardless of the stallion I'm kinda 'meh' about this situation. Do like me some Quality Road though and I know they are trying to protect their bottom line but still.

Re: Stallion News

Heartbreaking about Pioneer. Seems just yesterday he was a promising 3-year-old on the Derby trail. They think he died of a ruptured aorta. That can happen to any human and animal. It happened to my beloved little Kitty just before Christmas 2017...in fact, only two days after the devastating San L...

I just remembered that Pope said her first hunch/thought was to send Songbird to Pioneerof the Nile before they decided on Arrogate. Now I am extra sad that she didn't go with him the first time

Pioneerof The Nile has passed away at age of 13.

I am so, so, sad :( He was so young! What a loss to the industry.
I can't breathe... I'm devastated.
