Re: Dortmund

I understand experimenting with different surfaces, distances, etc. but this was unsurprising to me - take away Chrome, and Dortmund was doing fairly well last year going classic distances on dirt...not sure why they wouldn't just continue to work off of that, especially now that Chrome is out of th...

Hairy Potter :D
This is actually the name of a horse in the barn I work for. He is a hunky gypsy paint (definitely v. hairy) :D

Re: Pegusus World Cup G1

criticism is fine. his bcc was criticised if i recall, and that was a good race despite him not winning. rushing to say it was on off day without being skeptical when off days have not translated to performances THIS bad is what's being discussed. and now they're looking at his right front. so some...

Re: Pegusus World Cup G1

Happy for Arrogate. I get a chance to see the most talented horse since Spectacular Bid. I never actually seen either run live. Bittersweet for California Chrome. I didn't expect him to run a clunker like that although I did assume the exacta wasn't a mortal lock between them. I actually cared more...

Re: Pegusus World Cup G1

Not sure why it's so surprising that Chrome would throw in a clunker due to an off day or what have you - he's been racing pretty much regularly (every month consistently) since last July without a real layoff...doesn't seem out of the question that perhaps he was just tired/not feelin' it today. Y...

Re: Pegusus World Cup G1

Chrome isn't beyond throwing in a clunker; it's just been awhile. I hope he's not hurt but him going backwards with a bad draw is not atypical of him. This. This is exactly what I was thinking. In any case, a shame for Chrome to go out like that, but as a big fan of Arrogate, can't say I'm disappoi...

RLT, Arrogate made his first start 3 weeks after Chrome won World Cup. Think how far a horse has to come in 6.5 months to do what did today
Yeah, this is pretty unbelievable. Can't wait to see what he does next year!
