Re: TBC Breeders Cup Watch Party/Discussion Thread

The only thing keeping me hopeful is my recollection that Belmont Stakes day 2015 was a CRAP day for favorites - losing left and right - and then we got a Triple Crown at the end of it all. :P

Re: BC Filly&Mare TURF 1-1/8th Saturday R7

She was in such a tight spot heading into the first turn. Horses all around her, banging against her, head in the air, fighting Irad's hold on her. She must have expended a lot of energy, and been mad as hell. That can take a lot out of a horse. Oh definitely. Just such a shame. Really hoping whoev...

Re: TBC Breeders Cup Watch Party/Discussion Thread

Three Chimneys knows how to make a commercial. All anyone wants to see is a newborn foal being really stinkin cute, right? The foal was adorable but what a melancholic song. I always feel like I'm watching some hospital drama where some couple dies when I see that one. Haha, yep, fair. It was vergi...

Such a disappointing finale for Lady Eli...farthest back she's ever come in in her entire career (furthermore, the first time she hasn't won or placed in her entire career). :(

Re: TBC Breeders Cup Watch Party/Discussion Thread

lol anyone having second thoughts about betting Drefong? A favorite has to do something at some point, right? You'd think, but... it's actually less the longshots and more the fact that he'll be the inside speed, I think that's a pretty bad place to be today. Only two more dirt races before the Cla...

Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

I wonder if his new owner ( who hasn't been identified, IIRC ) didn't want a name so similar to American Pharoah...or to perhaps give the impression that the colt had the same owner as AP. :? Honestly I don't like either name. Irish Pharoah is like they couldn't come up with anything more original ...

"St Patrick's Day (2yo colt out of Littleprincessemma, formerly named Irish Pharaoh), will arrive at Santa Anita Park tomorrow to start his official racetrack training with Bob Baffert, per Camilla Yakteen of XBTV. We still do not know who owns him. He is American Pharoah's full brother."

Re: Zenyatta News

I'd call her, Princess Zora. Been waiting for this news since I found out Zenyatta was bred to MDO who I think was a good racehorse and is an excellent sire. Now waiting for The Queen to be mated to A. Pharoah. Throw in Curlin and Ghostzapper too. I've heard many say Curlin wouldn't be a good match...

Harry Connick Jr kind of disappointing . Enjoying the program too. Wonder why no mention of Canonero II with the discussion of Gunnevera? I actually kind of loved it...I get so tired of everyone singing the National Anthem as though they're trying to prove they're "The Fanciest Singer In All The Wo...

Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

I wonder where they're pointing her/what the plan is for her. She looks like she's grown. Also this makes me wonder if Irish Pharaoh will make his debut this year, and who his owners will send him to. And who his owners ARE for that matter. Been curious about his whereabouts for a while - he comple...

Re: Arrogate vs American Pharoah

I would've said Arrogate easily just a few days ago. Thinking about it more, it wouldn't be cakewalk for him against AP. I believe AP was a better 3YO than Chrome but Chrome was equally as good as AP by age 5. Chrome is a very good horse, but many overrate his raw talent immensely. I tend to agree....
