Approximately 24 degrees outside and blizzarding. (I live about 10 minutes from Darley.)

Re: Foals of 2016

The angular deformity on the left front is not subtle. Hope they can get it fixed. Almost all foals are born with crooked legs (there's a lot of leg to squish into a very small space pre-birth) and almost all correct naturally as they unfold and develop. I doubt that anyone is worried about fixing ...

Re: Aptly Named

I always wonder why a horse who is in the clear, winning, and still running strong continues to be hit by the jockey. Perhaps Geepers Creepers felt the same way about it?

Thank you, Treve!

I loved seeing the pictures of the Animal Kingdom yearlings. He has been a favorite of mine since he first started racing.

Re: Stallion News

Is Smarty Jones registered as a liver chestnut? He must be in the original stallion barn that's attached to the main office. Those stalls are huge. I wonder who has the dubious honor of being in Alydar's old stall of death. There is no sub-category for liver chestnut. All shades of chestnut are sim...

Mucho Macho Man http://i65.tinypic.com/vo23yu.jpg I really want to like this horse, loved him as a race horse. This picture is just horrible, he seems not interested in posing, his head is too low, too much in the background, and I think he needs more weight. I hope he turns into a useful sire. I n...

Re: Stallion News

Funny that you should mention the swimming pool- I asked about that specifically- basically the youngsters go into the pool- mostly for sales prep. No go for Tiz or any of the other stallions. Ah, odd. You'd think those old boys would like the pool. Take some weigh off those old bones and get a nic...

Re: 2015 Keeneland November Sale

Just saw hip 3575 sold without reserve for $1000. I didn't hear any bids, and the auctioneer ended it by saying"Take her out." What is the likely outcome for this mare? She was consigned by Airdrie Stud. She was sired by a (former) Airdrie stallion. She comes from an Airdrie family and is in foal t...

I checked last week on The Jockey Club site and it still had 2014 data.
Those numbers haven't been released yet.

Re: Irish Eyes NOT Smiling today

Been lots of speculation on these boards about what AP's fee was going to be out of the box and I suspect Coolmore principals weren't happy this morning. Rumors of $150,000, which always seemed far fetched to me, but who knows what the ask/actual spread was going to be. Gotta believe the potential ...

She is probably worth a great deal more than 32k as a broodmare. She's a winner and half-sister to G2 winner DERBAAS. Her Storm Cat dam is full sister to European champion and G1 winner ALJABR. She was a big, good-looking yearling (I saw her at the sale) and brought 150K. I doubt that she will be s...

Michael Hernon (Gainesway) and Bret Jones (Airdrie) were there (according to TDN) but I don't believe that either of them bought anything.
