Re: Waiting for news on ...

Was just looking at the tote board about 9 mins to post for the first at AQU- and Grand Rapport was the favorite. Went to go check the results and found out that he was a late vet scratch- does anyone know what happened? He looked okay in the warmup...TVG guys were saying how they didn't like him a...

Re: In Memoriam 2014

I sure hope this isn't related to the cold spell. It definitely is a hard start to the new year.

Laughing will be missed by many. This is a picture of her before the 2013 Filly & Mare Turf.

Re: Sales/Rescues

That body posture and the look of her says a lot...wonder where she's been since her last race in 1998. I hope we get to see the "after" photos. The transformation always amazes me and makes me smile!

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this. I remember how much you liked her and your "bet" with Thinair, and I think they tried surgery to save her. RIP Srumdiddlyumptious.

Summer Bird, I thought of you too and I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so hard to lose our special favorite horse. I know how that feels.

RIP beautiful Summer Bird. Run and fly with the heavenly herd!

Re: Vote:How Will Vic Stauffer Treat Hollywood Park's Last C

To answer the original poster's question, perhaps the most appropriate (albeit maybe a little corny) thing for Vic to say after the last race is, "And now, ladies and gentlemen, Hollywood Park belongs to your sweet memories and to history." From the NY Times article: And now, ladies and gentlemen, H...

Was just thinking the same sort of thing. This sure leaves a bitter taste!

Re: Hollywood Park Visit

We had to go one more time last weekend before it was bulldozed to make way for development. HP was showing lack of maintenance but one can still see the ghosts of its former glory days. My husband and I spent many weekends there in the mid-60s when we lived nearby, and off to the Forum to watch the...

Re: The Japan Cup(G1)

It was so close and TVG cut off before the results were posted. I found the results on Racing Post. Gentildonna won for the first repeat in history. The 3 yo filly Denim and Ruby was 2nd, Tosen Jordan 3rd. It was very exciting for me, not so much for my cat, haha.

Re: Sales/Rescues

Oh, geez, I wish there were something we could do about this BEFORE they get to auction. Having to sort through horses on the auction lot to find the TBs just seems so wrong, especially the ones who have recently raced. It seems like such a waste of precious resources! I'm pretty sure there are mode...

I did a quick Google search and found this from Bloodhorse. Looks like it was Jose De La Torre who bought Wide Eyed Wanderer in 2010. He has current entries at Los Alamitos. Absolutely fantastic news from Caroline about Carla Angel : "Carla Angel is just the prettiest mare... Dr Lenhert came out last week to see her, as she wasn't moving well through her hind end, and she had a chiropractic adjustment yesterday as a result. He also re-xrayed her head and sinus cavities...
