Re: 2011 Names

Cool feature in Equibase. I don't know how to navigate to it. I just typed gibberish in Horse Search and came up with a screen that says "If horse is unnamed, click here to search by Year of Birth and Dam." It takes you to this page http://www.equibase.com/profiles/Results.cfm?type=Yob I just added ...

Thanks, second-glance, I'm on it! Glad to hear they are going the stem-cell route. Yep, if anyone can beat the odds, I'm sure Anne will.

Re: Waiting for news on ...

Am hearing terrible news out of Turf Paradise -- that jockey Anne Von Rosen was involved in a terrible spill; her spinal cord was severed, and she is now or shortly will be undergoing major surgery. Jingles, prayers, thoughts, blessings -- whatever you've got, she needs. Oh dear God, I so hope this...

Swiss Ski 10/G just finished 2nd by a short nose at Turf Paradise. He's finished in the top three in 51 of his 81 races :-)

Yep! What a race and what a horse!!! " Taken together, Seattle Slew’s career on the track and in the breeding shed perhaps is only rivaled by that of Northern Dancer...He sired Kentucky Derby winner Swale and champions Landaluce, Slew o’ Gold, A.P. Indy and Surfside. He is a sire of sires. Seattle S...

Re: The WAR HORSE Chronicles

12yo Wasserman was injured and retired in August. All time leading money earner at Emerald Downs, he left the track with a record of 83 - 13-15-14 and $599,091. http://www.auburn-reporter.com/sports/221173631.html WarBiscuit I think we put it in a different thread. But this gives me a place to post...

Re: The WAR HORSE Chronicles

Things like that do make you go "hmmm." Sun City came in 5th of 6 today in for a $3k claiming price at Turf Paradise. Chart says "tired, stopped" and she looked the part beaten by 12 1/4 lengths. She's been racing steadily since 2007, and seems to be racing sound for all these years. I've really enj...

From Doug O'Neill's Facebook along with a short video: Bond Holder is still recovering from the effects of his Fed Ex flight. He is walking sound as shown on the video taken this morning (be aware the red you see on his hoof is tape). His foot is doing better and we remain day by day with him. Bond ...

Re: Waiting for news on ...

3yo filly Candy Eye vanned off at SA. I didn't see the race so have no idea how serious it might have been. She's in Harty's barn. Couldn't tell by watching the race. The horses were very strung out and Candy Eye didn't stay in the picture once she started going wide and falling back. Before she le...

Thanks for checking! I was going to go check myself if no news here. Not usually glad for news like that but, under the circumstances, it's good news.

Mike Puhich is the trainer at Pegasus Training and Rehabilitation Center in Washington state. He raced last summer at Emerald Downs under Mike's name. My hunch is he's spent time at the rehab center and they do intend to race him again (only a guess). It does bear watching.

THREE???? I did not see that coming? Did it say how the other two died? If you look above, this is how the NYRA database reported it. Thinking about it, they may have just lumped the three together from the one being gone, not sure. All three are listed as deaths, perhaps when the other two got bac...

Tin Man seems optimistic on Craving Carats. He said he was by the line and saw him load ok onto the van. Not 100% sure as to his condition, he's going to ask to see- he's generally at the track on weekends, so may not get the final word till then. Thanks, serenassong! I'm staying optimistic. And th...

EquineAnne, Yeah, Tinny said he got fed up with the aggravation of dealing with certain posters. There's been more than a few that stopped posting for the same reason, and that I miss on here. Can't say that I blame them though. I'm not exactly thin-skinned but I try not to post in controversial thr...
