Re: 2013 Report of Mares Bred

How many stallions have their books limited? I believe War Front does, which is why he only saw 105 and his son, The Factor, saw 135 (I'm sure stud fees made The Factor a cheaper alternative to his sire as well). 184 for Kitten's Joy... we're going to run out of Kitten names. Then again, con...

I was so sorry to hear this. He was such a lovely horse and a decent stallion prospect.

Re: Joey & Tuffy

Oh wow! I feel like it's been so long since I've ventured into the Joey & Tuffy thread and seen photos. They sure have grown up! You can tell they come from quality - they're wonderful.

They could eat my own little 5 lb darling in one bite, too.

Crap, that does not sound good.
It's been confirmed he was put down. :(

Eggs from our CSA or the farmer's market. Big, orange yolks, great taste. Grocery store eggs just can't compare.

Re: TV Discussion Thread

Took me four episodes but this week, I finally got into The Blacklist. It was really good this week. However, as an Alias fan, I'm not seeing the comparison I keep hearing about Spader's character to Victor's Jack Bristow. I guess some of the things he's done are a little similar but overall, they'...

Who wants to buy Upperline for me? Loved her while she was racing, love her bloodlines, love that she's in foal to War Front. She should go for a pretty penny... I just hope she stays in the US. Her dam, Snowflake, went to Japan, gave birth, and hasn't produced anything since. Anyone know if she di...

Re: Breeders' Cup News & Notes

Declaration of War going in the Classic instead of the Turf is interesting. He's likely to get that firm going that he wants in the Turf, but I guess they're not thrilled about having him go 1 1/2 miles and would prefer putting him on dirt instead.

Re: Happiness

Starrydreamer, your Chi pup may grow out of his timidity. Don't be surprised if he turns into a four-legged banty rooster, sure that he's the boss of the block. Y'know, the whole "it's the size of the fight in the dog, not the size of the dog in the fight" thing. Haha very true. Although,...

I'm getting a promotion.. or rather half of one. Maybe this means I don't have to go back to school lol Woo! Congrats! I caved on what kind of dog I wanted (hubby wanted a Chihuahua, I had my eye on a miniature poodle or I wanted to wait for a Wheaten to show up for adoption), so yesterday we adopt...

Re: TV Discussion Thread

Anybody else watch Once Upon a Time? It's really good so far this season. I do. It's definitely improved from last season. I watched the whole first season and most of the second, but I found myself just not caring about the show anymore so I stopped watching. The only shows I watch nowadays are Th...

That's a bigger jump than I was expecting, but Claiborne shouldn't have any trouble filling his book.

Passing the bar first shot? WOW! That's impressive. Congratulations and best of luck findng a job with a firm worthy of having someone as bright as you. Weeellll, to be fair, the pass rate in MN is something around 90%. The odds were in my favor. But I'm still excited. Thanks, guys! I'm still hunti...

Seasons 1-4 of The Good Wife have finally hit Hulu Plus (I have only seen about half of seasons 3 and 4. Season 3 I have on DVD, but now I can watch season 4!). Now they just need to add Big Bang Theory.

There aren't enough adjectives in all the languages to describe how much I HATE FACEBOOK. I haven't friended that many people - just those who don't seem to want to e-mail any longer. It takes forever to download all the stuff that people post, and then I get a message that it's becoming unresponsi...

My eye doctor in NYC (who was basically the most awesome eye doctor ever) told me not to bother with lasix, too. He said that because I'm so nearsighted, there's no point. They can't fix the way my eyeballs have become distorted. I wouldn't bother with lasix either. :) Bwahaha! Nice catch. Clearly,...

Oh, you betcha.

Sorry that Data Link has been retired. I'll miss watching him race, but I'm excited for him to be standing at stud next to his sire.

Ah, I'd be delighted with $178. These days I'm into progressive bifocals, which run rather more than that. Fortunately I try to keep the same frame for several years, so that at least helps. For serious! I have horrific vision.. my last pair cost me $300+.. and that was after insurance helped me an...

Tall order for Summer Front, but I think he can hit the top 3, even if he can't beat Wise Dan.
