Re: Happiness

Passing the bar first shot? WOW! That's impressive. Congratulations and best of luck findng a job with a firm worthy of having someone as bright as you. Weeellll, to be fair, the pass rate in MN is something around 90%. The odds were in my favor. But I'm still excited. Thanks, guys! I'm still hunti...

Found out on Monday that I passed the bar exam in my state! At the end of the month, I will be fully licensed to be an attorney.

Now I just need that elusive job...

Re: TV Discussion Thread

Seasons 1-4 of The Good Wife have finally hit Hulu Plus (I have only seen about half of seasons 3 and 4. Season 3 I have on DVD, but now I can watch season 4!). Now they just need to add Big Bang Theory.

Re: The VENT Thread

There aren't enough adjectives in all the languages to describe how much I HATE FACEBOOK. I haven't friended that many people - just those who don't seem to want to e-mail any longer. It takes forever to download all the stuff that people post, and then I get a message that it's becoming unresponsi...

Re: The VENT Thread

My eye doctor in NYC (who was basically the most awesome eye doctor ever) told me not to bother with lasix, too. He said that because I'm so nearsighted, there's no point. They can't fix the way my eyeballs have become distorted. I wouldn't bother with lasix either. :) Bwahaha! Nice catch. Clearly,...

Oh, you betcha.

Sorry that Data Link has been retired. I'll miss watching him race, but I'm excited for him to be standing at stud next to his sire.

Re: The VENT Thread

Ah, I'd be delighted with $178. These days I'm into progressive bifocals, which run rather more than that. Fortunately I try to keep the same frame for several years, so that at least helps. For serious! I have horrific vision.. my last pair cost me $300+.. and that was after insurance helped me an...

Tall order for Summer Front, but I think he can hit the top 3, even if he can't beat Wise Dan.

Re: Eblouissante

I don't know that Eblouissante is automatically going to Japan. Mandy Pope spent quite a bit of money last year to buy Plum Pretty and Havre de Grace. It sounds like she's still looking to build up her broodmare band, and from the money being spent on yearling fillies at the September sale, it seems...

Strategic Decision (7 yr old gelding by Distorted Humor, out of Beautiful Pleasure). His record is 55-12-9-7. He's been racing for $4,000-$5,000 tags for a while now.

Who wants to buy Upperline for me? Loved her while she was racing, love her bloodlines, love that she's in foal to War Front. She should go for a pretty penny... I just hope she stays in the US. Her dam, Snowflake, went to Japan, gave birth, and hasn't produced anything since. Anyone know if she die...

Goddess of War (2-1-0-0, $21,000) also was euthanized after breaking down past the wire of race 8 at Laurel Park today (finished 7th). In addition, there's already a no foal report for Divine Escapade, Meghan's Joy, Protesting, Strike the Sky, Greenery for their 2014 foals. Thanks, starrydreamer. Is that from Greenery's War Front cover? Wasn't she also covered by Blame? My memory might be incorrect. I think the no foal report cove...

Princess Rania (VEN) - 2009 f. War Front x Witchy Moon. Race record: 4-0-1-0. Her last race was 12/28/12 and she was vanned off after that race, but her death report is from 2013. Maybe they tried to save her but couldn't? Because its only a couple days from her injury until 2013. Yeah, that's my g...

Re: Bookings for well-known mares 2013

Yes, War Front gets quite a few repeat customers. Good Vibes also has a nice racehorse from War Front's first crop, named Warning Flag/Sweet Orange. Tempo West actually has 4 foals by War Front - Declaration of War and Front Page Story, as you mentioned, and also War Pact (a 2008 gelding) and War Co...

Here are some death reports I've seen on the Jockey Club website... Frontside - 2008 f. War Front x Azarba. Race record: 18-5-3-2. She last raced at Indiana Downs in June, when she won a stakes. I'm not sure how she died, but she was a lovely filly from War Front's first crop. She was third in the G...

Re: Keeneland September 2013 sale

From last week, hip 466, a filly by Giant's Causeway out of Snow Forest, is very flashy. Chestnut, blaze, four stockings (at least two that went above her knees). She went for $70,000 to Mark Johnston. Anyone else notice this pretty girl (named Think Snow)?
