Re: 2019 Two-Year-Olds

Tiz the Law (Constitution x Tizfiz) just won the G1 Champagne in impressive fashion, finishing several lengths in front of Green Light Go. Looks like Sackatoga Stable may have another NY-bred Derby horse, although this one's still intact. :D

Re: Across the pond

I wonder what Coolmore did with De Coronado, the tall, handsome full bother of Zenyatta? He'd be six now and, even if he never amounted to much on the track, with a pedigree like that, wouldn't someone be willing to stand him? :?

Small but really good field. And I think this race and one other Keeneland stake is being shown on NBC...or maybe NBCSN. Either way, that means I get to watch. :D

Re: Keeneland November 2019

IIRC, Madison's Luna is a really attractive Tapit. Very Pretty Pony. ;)
In Combatant, you get a Scat Daddy who wasn't a half-bad racehorse. He might make some regional breeder very happy.

Re: 2019 Fasig-Tipton November Sale

With the names I see on that list of top-class fillies and mares, I wouldn't be surprised if the hammer price for some of those distaffers set new F-T records.

I guess the Irish still prize stayers over sprinters. Cool.
Quaint, but lovely. 8-)

Re: Santa Anita Autumn Meet

Big, big weekend for Abel Cedillo. His star is certainly on the rise. There's a very good chance that Cedillo will be riding her in the BC Distaff. I understand that Shirreffs put Abel up on Paradise Woods because Mike Smith, her usual rider, is committed to Midnight Bisou ( no surprise ) for the D...

It's interesting that Raven's Pass, winner of the 10-furlong BC Classic, has sired such a good sprinter.
Ya never know...

I think they all had to wait for Winx to retire to have a chance at some wins.

Where do you think the BC should have moved? You do know that the fatality rates at tracks like Belmont or Churchill aren't zero? :?

Re: Heartbreak...another horse dies during Santa Anita race

Perhaps it was like when we lost Eight Belles during the gallop-out after the Derby. She appeared to fracture one front ankle, and when she tried to catch herself with all her weight on the other leg, she broke her other ankle. :( Unless we could go back a million years or so and redesign the way ho...

The most beautiful horse in the Awesome Again is Isotherm, IMHO. Looks so much like his black sire, the great Aussie Lonhro.

Re: Santa Anita Autumn Meet

Emtech went down in a heap in the stretch of the 8th race...right in the middle of NBCSN's nationwide coverage. The screens are out on the track, and I fear we've lost Emtech, along with Santa Anita's decent safety record since early June. :( ETA: After breaking both front fetlocks, Emtech was euth...

Re: Older Horses - 2019

Checking out the Results on DRF, I see that Imperial Hint is still a HORSE. I don't know what his connections' plans are for his retirement, but I hope some farm gives this little rocket ship a chance at stud. I fear his diminutive stature might make some breeders pause but, damn, his heart and tale...
