Re: OMG!! Mom is having a stroke!!!

* One would think that it was your mother who had that paperwork done, and the doctor, due to patient privacy laws, could not tell you that without your mother's instructions to do so. * I'm not saying it's impossible that this doctor has done something shady but, usually, family members have to fig...

Re: Pennsylvania Derby (G2)

Now that Will Take Charge has beaten Moreno again, and quite soundly this time, do you think the authorities investigating Eric Guillot's "buzzer" claims will finally tell him to go take a hike?

Re: Waiting for news on ...

Update from DRF...no head injury, but he fractured his tailbone. And I know from experience that that is really painful...you get a shooting pain in your arse from doing the simplest things when you shift your weight. http://www.drf.com/news/barretts-fairplex-quinonez-avoids-serious-injury-fall-satu...

Re: The Gelding Thread

* Looking at that photo of Homeboy Kris, it appears that he has an X nose band criss-crossing over his nose, which pretty much keeps a horse's mouth shut. All he could really do was bare his teeth at Froggy ( who, I notice, wears the same sort of nose band ). Which he certainly did...with bad intent...

Re: Whatcha looking at?

Is it possible he was looking for traffic to his inside, so that he could move his mount inward without fouling another horse?

Re: OMG!! Mom is having a stroke!!!

That's scary...hopefully, she will receive the medication that helps alleviate the effects of a stroke when administered promptly, and she recovers completely.

Re: Arabian Race added to Breeders' Cup program

* The Sheikhs are providing the money ( and, I'm sure, some "pressure") , so their request that the BC add this race is being granted. I'm pleased, because my first love was Arabians, and watching them run is delightful...you just have to ignore the timer. ;) * In some ways, I guess you could say th...

Re: Sales/Rescues

It's sad that, after getting a second chance at a good life, fate has handed Carla what is probably a terminal illness. I think a tumor like that is what cost Unbridled's Song his life. :(

El Prado, don't give up on your guy...he will get better, and having a cat use the toilet is pretty convenient. Also gives you bragging rights with other cat owners. :D I had a Siamese who taught himself to pee in the toilet ( wish he had also decided to use it for #2 ). I remember sitting around th...

Re: Stallion News

* That's smart of Winstar to use a Western saddle on their stallions. Aside from the fact that it makes it easier for the rider to stay on a rambunctious stud, the saddle itself sends a different signal to the horse. It does not remind the former racehorse of a racing saddle, so it's much less likel...

Re: Sales/Rescues

"This horse was sent to slaughter with papers, awards and new shoes. Look at this poor thing standing there in it's perfect halter class pose. The kill buyer could hardly wait to load it on the trailer." * I'm not surprised. The KB probably looked at that poor horse and went giddy counting all the ...

Re: Malibu Moon. Chunky?!? You're too kind. He's fat...obese...grossly overweight...much too heavy...a health problem waiting to happen, IMHO. The way he's built right now reminds me of the way Secretariat looked in his last years of retirement...and that's not a good thing. If it's true that he's a...

That horse was outrageous fast. I seem to remember reading that he was clocked at a crazy speed in a workout...like, in the forties? Tin Man, do you remember what it was?

That's wonderful news. If someone has the chance to post a link to that Facebook page, it would be much appreciated. Even at his senior age, he was still such an elegant-looking stallion.

I seem to remember this question coming up in a conversation with the Princess's owner, and he said he preferred keeping her in New York, where she could just walk out of her own stall to go race.

You're upset that he'll be staying at "another lady's house?" Even though you know she is NOT going to interested in your boyfriend in that way?
You're joking, right?
