Re: Breeders Cup Discussion?

Filly and Mare sprint is a 2 horse race. Throw the rest out. https://twitter.com/DRFGrening/status/1185512246354567168 It's up - some urging, but she's got some kind of engine - definitely a fan of CD, but Cofefe is tough - looking forward to this one! https://www.xbtv.com/video/bcworks19/come-danc...

Re: Horse Racing Is Its Own Worst Enemy

Unpleasant and sad as it is, a dead horse in a landfill is not a story. At least not a unique one. Not even close.

A factoid piece of trivia in regards to Imperial Hint - he's the only horse to have done a Vanderbilt - Vosburgh double/double.

Donna Veloce (Uncle Mo/Coin Broker) broke her maiden impressively at SA. Her 2nd dam is BC Juvenile Fillies winner and expensive auction purchase Cash Run. They didn't get her on the cheap, either. https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/uncle-mo-filly-is-as-fast-as-advertised-becomes-days-fourth-ris...

MG's trainer did say they were looking at Japan/Dubai in the post race interview. He also said they were hoping for third today, he didn't seem too disappointed, though.

Here's the race with the head on after the race. VR came out on HC multiple times, knocking his hindquarter's sideways several times. HC had a head in front when the bumping started and was coming back on VR (albeit inch by inch) after the bumping. VR easily has a couple of hundred pounds on the sma...

Re: Heartbreak...another horse dies during Santa Anita race

Curious to hear from anybody that saw this interview yesterday, as recapped in the LA Times newsletter today..... NBC’s telecast of the Pennsylvania Derby addressed the Justify issue by bringing in veteran journalist Tim Layden to discuss it with Nick Luck. I’ll state up front that Tim and I are fr...

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

I can see your point about regulations being reactive rather than proactive, but there is no way to know what the pharamceutical guys who run chemical horses are going to try next. We can't be proactive about stuff we don't know about yet. These people are 1 step ahead of the testing technology, an...
