I first read that name as Silent Survivor, lol. Would have been more appropriate.

Re: Arkansas Derby G1 Million Dollars

Improbable actually really impressed me. First-time blinkers and he took a lot of dirt but still ended up wide and never gave up. I don't think he wants any part of 10f, but he's a nice, tough horse. Same here, I prefer OB and ATF's type, but have always been impressed by Improbable's brilliance. I...

Wow, Rushing Fall was impressive off the layoff. I thought she was going to get swallowed and she turned them back.

Re: Older Horses - 2019

In a match race, the speed usually wins. . . and Mitole has it in spades. Whitmore was all on his own today. It didn't help Whitmore that he doesn't corner quite as well. They're going to have to tag team Mitole to win, lol.

He's in the Count Fleet Sprint at Oaklawn, I'm sure you've caught that. Should be an interesting race, Whitmore will be coming. . .

Good lord does Vekoma have the worst action. If you bred him to St. Trinians I think you'd just get a blender.
LOL. Watching his knees sway back and forth, I couldn't decide if I wanted to dance or was being hypnotized. . .

Re: The Florida Derby

I'm headed to Portugal in a few months and am sad I bought a ticket back. Drowning my sorrows in shellfish and vino verde could be better. OMG, Portugal has been on the list for such a long time! Where's the green eyed emoticon??? Shellfish and vino verde sounds like a excellent way to imbibe after...

Jeremy Balan @jeremybalan 8m8 minutes ago Some personal news. I’ve accepted a position to be the Content Editor at @TwinSpires and @BetAmerica. It’s a different role (more editing, less writing) and I’m in a sphere outside of journalism for the first time in a long time, but very excited to get to ...

It is a weird year, and Maximum Security will get some attention ( perhaps some unwanted attention )
He already is - this morning, from Mike W./drf. And you can include Restoring Hope in there, too.

Re: The Florida Derby

I just watched the NBCSN coverage. Moss and Bailey I couldn't believe they not only didn't focus on Bodexpress acting up so badly prior to the race, they never even mentioned it. Astonishing. That went on for a solid couple of minutes. We assumed the cameras were capturing all of it. As I mentioned...

Good 'ol Gunnevera. You don't see him in the winners circle much, but he continues to fatten that wallet.

That horse took so much dirt I thought he'd quit going down the backstretch. I should have known better, he finished on 1/2 lung no doubt. That long stretch favors his style.

Re: Santa Anita 2019

I edited my post, apparently the first time I did, it didn't "take". Regardless, his "within a generation or 2" makes no sense to me, and that's in the context of our racing environment here. It has a Lamarckian quality to it. Perhaps he means if "American" blood lines are introduced. It's really a ...

Interesting thread. I pretty much agree with Craig Bernick here... https://twitter.com/Craig_Bernick/status/1110969938825670664 Craig Bernick @Craig_Bernick 7h7 hours ago In my opinion, if you bought the best 200 horses in Germany (where they don’t allow bleeders to breed) and sent 20 each to the t...

Re: $800,000 Sunland Park Derby

Anybody look good besides Mucho Gusto? I wish he was drawn further outside, but it will be interesting to see how the 2 handles dirt. It would be fun to see Blaine Wright with a Derby horse. I guess he’s all set for the Preakness, regardless. ATF was a thing of beauty finishing in his last race. Ho...
