Re: Retirements 2019

If Reg finds himself unable to care for Hartnell in the future, I hope there's an Aussie version of Old Friends to take in that noble gelding . After facing off against great horses from Black Caviar to Winx, he really deserves it. There is. I forget the name but that's where Apache Cat is. Living ...

Re: 2020 Stud Fees

American Pharoah - $135,000. Coolmore updated their webpage with his fee. https://coolmore.com/farms/america/stallions/american-pharoah It's certainly far less than the 200,000 fee he had his first year at stud Yes but they were making deals his first year, doing a 2 for 1 deal on approved mares. T...

Re: Stallion News

Does anybody know what farms the stallions will end up going to? The buyer of D'Wildcat and Closing Argument is actually Gerald Averett Jr. (they have his name misspelled in the sales results on one of the stallions). He owns Averett Farm in Louisiana and stands stallions. They have a Facebook page...

Yes it was to dissolve a partnership but its still strange to see the mare sell for 1/2 her price of just a few years ago when she hasn't had a chance to produce anything yet.

Re: Keeneland November 2019

Really surprised Take Charge Brandi only went for $3.2 million when she sold in 2015 for $6 million. Also being that she is a 1/2 to Omaha Beach, she is only 7, her first foal is only 2 and her female family(being a grand daughter of Take Charge Lady).

Re: 2019 BC Classic

I feel like the BC was going over the horses and erring on the side of caution before the races. They scratched quite a few horses who the connections felt were completely sound. If the horse had shown even the slightest indication that he wasn't 100% sound, he wouldn't have been in the race.

NBC can't even show the actual full finish... this can't be good.
It looked really bad and I couldn't focus on the race afterwards.

Sigh. All is right in the world. Was a little worried there.
No, Mongolian Groom is hurt.
Nooo. Really? I missed that... that's terrible.

I was so hyperfocsed on VR.
The announcer didn't even acknowledge it.

Iridessa’s second dam is Starine, the winner of the ‘02 BC F&M Turf.
Kind of amazing, considering Starine died so young and only produced 1 colt and 1 filly.

Re: Aqueduct’s Turnbackthealarm Stakes

One horse flipped and fell, 2 riders down shortly after break. Other horse may have stepped on rider, continued and “ won” race. Any updates on fallen horse and 2 downed riders? Thanks Chart says both horses walked off the track. The one that fell clipped heels. I couldn't find an article yet about...

Re: Mare - Tamale Molly?

She doesn't have a death report.

She has been bred twice.

2012 - Maximus Maximus, unraced gelding by Sideburn - born in Arizona

2017 - no foal (had been bred to Council Member) stallion looks to have been standing in Washington at that time

She wasn't bred any other year.

Re: Stallion News

Coolmore are sporting enough with their middle distance colts (and fillies!) and race their better ones at 4 and even 5, but they are oh so boring with their milers and sprinters. A couple months ago, Aidan O'Brien said in an interview that as "The Lads" get older, they've already accomplished so m...
