Re: Stallion News

So, after looking at tons of stallions photos popping up on twitter as the open houses are ongoing, I have to say that Justify must have crappy feet to still be shod in front. I am not sure I have seen another stallion with shoes on. It pretty much means he is prone to cracks, bruises or abscesses....

Starship Jubilee, who is a G1SW, won the Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Turf today. Her 2nd dam is G1SW Perfect Arc, who won the 1995 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup(G1) at Keeneland.

Re: Distorted Humor going strong at 27

His sire line is long lived. Forty Niner is alive at 35, Mr. Prospector lived to 29, Raise A Native to 27 and his broodmare sire Danzig lived to 29. Pretty cool. I hope one of his promising sons really steps up to continue his sire line.

I've never liked the name Hoof Hearted. I've always wondered how that name was ever accepted by the Jockey Club.
Not sure why it should be rejected - it’s a play in the term “half-hearted”
No, its so when the announcer calls the race it sounds like they are saying Who Farted.

Who is this?

Seeing the recent picture of Om that Mylute posted, it had me looking up Tabasco Cat because I wanted to compare Om and his broodmare sire. During my search for a photo of Tabasco Cat, the first conformation photo I found, while it says it Tabasco Cat, its not. Anyone know who it is? https://www.hor...

Re: De Coronado in Libya?

I found one mention of him on a Facebook page that hasn't been updated since 2018. If the person who said something about him owns him, which is really unclear because Google translate doesn't work well with Arabic, then he is around Tripoli.

Re: Horrible Names For Horses

Want to get this thread up and running again, since names are so important to me (even the bad ones). Swamp Rat (Hat Trick x R Smarty Pants) Just finished second in the Skidmore Stakes. Bloodletting (Idiot Proof x Advantage Player) A name I think of when people say "bad name". Conquest Corn Dog (No...

Re: Tracking Progeny in other Countries

There is also the Saudi Arabian studbook but its like the Emirates and only in pdf form, the last year was 2018. https://ksasb.com/ And while its not so easy to use, you can find results for stallions and mares in Saudi Arabia, but so far the only way I can find is if their foal has raced in the pas...

Thanks so much! This is all very helpful!

Does Dubai have any such tool?
There is the Emirates Racing site but you can only search for horses by their names. Their stud book is also on the page under Industry but is in pdf form.

Unique Bella had her foal by MdO this morning (or last night). I'm at school so can't post photo and I can't speak Spanish so I don't know the gender (saw it on Instagram).
This morning she foaled a filly.

Spice is Nice, a 3 year old daughter of Curlin out of G1 winner Dame Dorothy, broke her maiden by 12 lengths at GP yesterday. I adored Dame Dorothy, and of course I love Bernardini - he's a terrific broodmare sire. I don't know how I didn't see this yesterday, lol Here is a replay. https://www.yout...

Re: Keeneland January

The first session looks in line with most January session 1s to me. Its hard to compare 2020 with 2019's first session because there were mares like Abel Tasman last year and two others that attracted the big November buyers, who do not normally come to this sale. I think 2020 Session 1 is very comp...

India (honestly not real sure how well this site works, I just had it saved in my bookmarks from years ago). But has a dam and sire search that pulls up their offspring that have raced.) https://www.indiarace.com/ Turkey (one of the best in terms of information) https://www.tjk.org/EN/YarisSever/Ya...

When Bells Clang (Clang x Myrtle, by Cossack Warrior) is a 2000 model registered black. Can't really find a lot of information on him, but apparently he is standing in Queensland and was sold via online auction at one point. I really like his name. https://s3.amazonaws.com/content.bloodstock.com.au...

Quality Road and the Edward Evans Foundation

Paulick Report has a pretty neat article about Quality Road and how the Edward P. Evans Foundation owns 20% of the stallion. They use the shares they own to fund research for MDS, the type of cancer that Evans died from in 2010. https://www.paulickreport.com/features/pr-special/pr-special-keeneland-...

Re: Horrible Names For Horses

Perhaps there's a reason for it, like maybe she got out of the paddock as a youngster and got into something slimy and sticky? The name also ruins a superb naming history on Slimey's dam side. It started with Oratorio (bred to Verbatim, no less) five generations back and continued through Right Wor...

Re: Stallion News

It's strange that he reportedly bred mares in 16 and 17. He did but it wasn't many and the list said like 50% fertilty rate, but those reports can be off if a breeder is late registering a foal. I think he had 3 and 7 foals born those years. You have to look at each year separately but you can see ...

2016 filly by Curlin out of a 1/2 sister to Liam's Map and Not This Time. She finished 2nd in the 2018 Adirondack S(G2). She finished off the board in her next 2 starts at 2. Hasn't raced since. I know she just turned 4, so maybe they were trying to bring her back at 3 and it didn't happen?
