Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

It appears the real winner of the race was Bodexpress! Twitter is hilarious right now, and it's nice to see some mainstream positivity. And I have to give him credit- he switched leads beautifully the whole way around! I do hope they run him in a maiden one of these days... As I mentioned earlier, ...

Barber should take West up on his gracious offer.
I wouldn't give that clown the time of day. If Maximum Security loses he'll come up with another reason why he got cheated somehow.

Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

Congrats to Tyler Gaffalione! Great ride by him and great job by War of Will who didn't seem affected at all by his experience two weeks ago. Brave little horse.

Again no lyrics on the screen? I know they're kind of embarrassing since Maryland My Maryland is an anti-Lincoln propaganda song but c'mon, help the drunks out.

Mighty 15yo Carrickboy (IRE) finished 3rd in the 6th at Willowdale today, an amateur apprentice timber race, but he and the rest of the field were distanced some 43 3/4 lengths (who counted?) by the 12yo Katnap (FR).

Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

Local hopeful Alwaysmining is quite the character: Before he gets bored and heads back inside his stall, I pull a reporter’s notebook from my back pocket. The wire rings at the top are interesting – to a horse – and he wrinkles his nose as I move the notebook back and forth. The space between a hors...

Re: Korea Breeding

So Maximum Security’s mother and full sister are in Korea? What a shame. What I find a bit disturbing is the nonchalant attitude towards the situation by those folks who have enabled the Koreans to make their purchases. Lots of blame all around, but then the same crap goes on in Japan and here in t...

Re: 2019 Kentucky Derby

I think we ought to give some sort of award to War of Will. If you follow his hoofsteps in that slow-mo video, you can see him change his stride a bit to avoid the back legs of Maximum Security. I think that took some amazing athleticism to not clip heels and go down, which likely would have taken ...

Re: 2019 Kentucky Derby

I will always love the horses in my signature and will cherish memories of several other horses not listed. But I'm done with horse racing with or without the disqualification today. When I had to deal with the most controversial NFC championship and then the first DQ in Kentucky Derby history 3.5 ...
