Re: Keeneland January
Curious to see how much #44 She's Grumpy from the great WV-bred dynasty of Roberta Grump will go for. I followed her dam and half-brother (and her aunts, and her cousins...). Thanks Wow, gotta give props to owners of Tizso, selling her at age 25..... Really? That is cold-blooded. I guess they...

Re: Stallion News
Both Old Topper and Sea of Secrets are senior stallions, so that's no surprise...but I'm really sorry to see Coil on that list. :( I'd so hoped he would be that successful sire son that Point Given hasn't had. I wonder if they've completely given up on him and he'll be gelded, or if they'll wait an...

Re: Caribe races this past weekend
According to the Blood Horse, this is the third year that the Caribe Classico (I just know I butchered that name! ) was held at Gulfstream. A 45-1 shot from Venezuela won the classic. For me, two of the most enjoyable series of the year this past week at Gulfstream - the Caribe, and the Clai...

Stud fees and book limits for Turkish Jockey Club-owned stallions: http://www.yarisdergisi.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/TJK-Ayg%C4%B1rlar%C4%B1-2019-01.png 1 Turkish lira = 0.17 USD so these are all very cheap by American standards but purse money and horse sale prices are lower there as well. The...

Re: Stallion News
Wow, props to them for working on building their breeding program. They’ve purchased some nice, proven stallions. I don’t know much about Turkish breeding/racing though. Has Turkey produced anything of note recently? They send a few to Dubai every year and have placed a few times, most recently wit...

When was it announced that Avery Island was going to Turkey? Also, add Run Away and Hide to the list. They also recently bought Hemsworth , a G2 winning son of Bernardini whose second dam is half to Vindication. Last week. As with the Bodemeister move it seems to have been first announced in Turkis...

So apparently Super Saver and Daredevil off to Turkey according to twitter. Two more outcrosses for their European mares. The Turks have bought quite a few new stallions for 2020: Bluegrass Cat (Storm Cat) Tizway (Tiznow) Air Vice Marshal (War Front) Catapult (Kitten's Joy) Avery Island (Street Sen...

Re: New Conformation Photos
I hadn't heard of either Beaumec de Houelle or Tunis, but they both are handsome and appealing. And Skipshot is absolutely the darkest liver chestnut I've ever seen. Both of them are hurdlers, and with their nice balanced frames they sure look the part. France is unusual in that they don't automati...

Re: California Chrome to Japan
Idk about you all, but I'm tired of the American thoroughbred model. I'm thinking I need to just focus on European, Australian and Japanese racing. At least their horses are bred for longevity and run for more than 6 races. Not the Europeans who also retire their top 3yos every year like clockwork ...

I hope he pulls a Take Charge Indy and his first few crops do so well he's brought back. Not because I'm a "Chromie". I want to keep our classic winners available to American breeders.

Champion Steeplechase Horse should be Winston C with his Saratoga G1 sweep but the voters (the few who actually bother to vote in this category) will pick the Grand National winner (Brain Power) as usual.

Stretching the limits of "well-known horses" here but Boundtobebad , 2yo sister of longshot WV Breeders Classic winner Castle Bound , added to her undefeated record by winning the WV Futurity on Saturday. It was her first race against males and she won by 11 lengths. Both horses are by Windsor Castl...
