Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

Nobrag Justfact (The Factor/Jostle) won the Mystic Lake Mile S. at Canterbury tonight. The Factor is turning out to be a good stallion. He ranks in the company of a lot of more expensive sires when ranked by high Beyer performers: https://www.drf.com/breeding/sire-list-beyer/category/all/1/year/201...

Re: Belmont Stakes Race Day Card

Marconi (Tapit half to Mucho Macho Man) won the Brooklyn Invitational after leading almost every step of the way. Time: 2.28.97.

Re: 2019 Belmont Stakes

There's almost no speed in this race, so I'm trying to convince myself that Joevia can pull off a Da Tara.

Need to rename the track FAST Sandy. :P We could easily see a new stakes record in the Belmont.
This is a nice enough field, but I'd really hate to see one of these horses replace the big guy in the record book.

Re: Belmont Stakes Race Day Card

Midnight Bisou wins the Ogden Phipps over Come Dancing and Mopotism. I couldn't watch the entire race (because the very second I tune into Belmont I'm needed at work) but it looked like she stalked in third/second for most of the way. Come Dancing ran the half in 45+ and looked like she was just lo...

Is Win Win Win a huge horse or was his size just distorted by the camera angle?

Re: Kentucky Derby : Do you agree with the stewards decision?

I would suggest people listen to two former jockeys, Rich Migliore and Tony Black, during the latter part of this recording (you can click the slider bar to the 01:16:00 mark, about 3/4s of the way to go straight there) : https://stevebyk.com/broadcast/part-2-johnny-d-rusty-arnold-bret-calhoun-tony...

Re: 2019 Kentucky Derby

Twinspires is refunding bets on MS up to $10. Is CDI throwing the stewards under the bus? Or is it just a publicity stunt? I think this is very, very good customer service. They know this is controversial and getting even something back makes very unhappy people slightly happier. It's best to get o...

Durkin's best call, and maybe anyone's. He yells the whole race in a state of pitched excitement and the result is a work of art.

Re: Horse Racing is now officially a joke

I left horse racing, never to return, when I was 11 and Majestic Prince was robbed of a Belmont win. Since then, I estimate that I've vowed never to return approximately 300 to 400 times. Based on historical precedent, I'm guessing that my outrage over the Derby will last about two weeks. (I'm still...

Re: 2019 Kentucky Derby

And? Your don't like asterisks? What I mean is, when in discussion, people will always have to go back and say, "Well, Max actually won", and then that'll start up a debate. And then, similar to how for the longest we had to mention that the Derby was sponsored by Yum! in every mention of the event...

Re: 2019 Kentucky Derby

I think the MaxS was the best horse AND that it isn't illogical that his number came down, but...

I'm old enough to remember Forward Pass. An entirely different set of circumstances, a plausible result, but FP's win always had an big blinking red asterisk next to his name.
