Re: Racing in Japan

The biggest surprise was that the colt, Grosser Bar, is by Harbinger (GB) and *not* Gold Ship. I'm guessing he'll have two handlers the next time out... finished 8th this time. He'd have an apt. lined up for tomorrow to be minus two things if I owned that dangerous little sh*t.... From what I...

Looks like she won't be gray. Dangit. Also, Summer Wind is improving in the names department. Did someone involved in the operation pass away? If not, the name is kind of... a downer. I think she likes to name her horses in remembrance of her late husband, sometimes. Like she did with Chasing Yeste...

Re: Across the pond

Japan takes the G1 Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp. He's shaping up to be O'Brien's best 3 year old Re. Beat the Bank, he was tough as nails, and those connections just have some horrific luck. First, the owner of King Power Racing dies in a tragic helicopter crash last fall, then they lose their ...

The 5:50, a fillies maiden, at Leopardstown tomorrow has Alpine Star, a half sister to superstar Alpha Centauri by Sea the Moon and Love, a full sister to G1 winner Johannes Vermeer among its entries.

Re: The Belmont Derby

DMSO can be used for lots of things, but, at least in our barn, it is used almost always on their legs with furacin to sweat a swollen/stocked up leg. Not sure how much it enhances the performance of the animal, but it treats a condition...

Re: Across the pond

The news about Sea of Class is devastating, and I hope she makes a full recovery. She was my favourite horse in training and tbh I think the only horse in training who could come close to beating Enable.

Re: Princess Haya, wife of Sheikh Mohammed, Flees Dubai

The princess is from Jordan I believe? I'm sure she was not at all unaware of the status of women in the middle eastern countries when she married, nor that she was Wife #4 or whatever her number is. i.e. not sequential but simultaneous wife iwith the others. I imagine there is quite a dynamic invo...

People like to pretend women in the US have it bad, making up problems we supposedly face...they should go to the Middle East.
Whoa whoa whoa. Perspective is indeed important, but equality and respect for all women, everywhere, is also imperative. It isn’t a contest.

I thought Chrome's contract was for 3 seasons in Chile. He's not stood 3 there yet has he? It's been 2 SH seasons for him. I also heard that he may not have attracted as many mares there as hoped. Well then you heard wrong. Unlike the U.S., where something upwards of 20k Thoroughbred foals are born...

Princess Haya, wife of Sheikh Mohammed, Flees Dubai

Princess Haya of Jordan, a prominent racehorse owner in her own right, with Raven’s Pass and New Approach running in her silks, has taken her two children and around $50m and fled the UAE for Germany. She has applied for asylum and filed for divorce from Sheikh Mohammed. It’s not the first time a wo...

Too much weight on his left front and leaning off the other front.
He also looks a little clubby in his right front, but their farrier has made an attempt to get the hoof to grown outward instead of straight down

When Sheikh Mo was interviewed after Blue Point's win on Saturday, he said something about the horse having established his credentials as a stallion. Blue Point has been retired https://www.racingpost.com/news/latest/blue-point-retired-to-stud-after-incredible-royal-ascot-double/387266 Sad to see him be retired so early in the year, but between Meydan and Ascot, he's already won some great races in 2019. I'm sure they considered keeping him aroun...
