Re: Two Zayat horses to be sold over unpaid bills

Yes, people are definitely leaving this forum and racing conversation in general because we're just too mean to the millionaires who don't pay their bills. Won't someone please think of the rich people? America is hard enough on them already! (just a little fun fact: I know of at least one poster wh...

Re: 2019 Two-Year-Olds

Power Move just looked excellent debuting for Shug at Belmont- beautifully leveled off in the final sixteenth. Second dam is Pleasant Home.

Re: Across the pond

The DRF reporting makes it sound like Waldgeist is possible for the turf- or at least he's likely to run again this year. He did run in the Turf last year, although you'd think the SA ground wouldn't really be to his liking.

Re: Across the pond

On the channel I was watching they interviewed Gosden right afterwards and he said something like, "she ran great and just got outstayed over the ground by a good horse." I think that sums it up- she looked tired late, and Waldgeist loves soft turf. Congratulations to him and his connections, and En...

Re: Across the pond

Twinspires doesn't have it, only thing I could find was a livestream of the British channel ITV1. Ridiculous that it's not easier to access for us.

Twenty minutes! I'm also worried about the ground, but I think she'll still do it.

Re: Across the pond

Does anyone know where you can watch the race online tomorrow? I don't have TVG and it doesn't look like the betting websites stream Longchamps. Would appreciate any help!

Re: 2019 Breeders Cup Classic and Watch

I dunno, I kind of like this year's Classic field. If those horses on Haskin's list all entered, it would be a really fun and intriguing race to analyze. Without running any numbers, I would argue that it's no worse, top-to-bottom, than any of the fields from 2011-2014. Maybe I'm just still pretty u...

Re: G2 Beldame

Her Beyer came back as a very light 91. I agree that she looks vulnerable, but it's hard to pick anyone out to topple her at the moment. Hoping the Spinster brings some clarity.

Re: Older Horses - 2019

I'm not sure how fair it is, but I've never quite felt like McKinzie was as good as his reputation. He has four odds-on losses, five if you count last year's DQ, and it feels like 10f in particular is just a bit beyond his scope. Dirt Mile/ Cigar/ Pegasus sounds like a perfect gameplan for him. Mong...

Mongolian Groom looked fantastic there. Love to see smaller-name connections take down a G1 like that.

The official chart I'm seeing on Equibase says he "took a bad step." http://www.equibase.com/premium/chartEm ... y=USA&rn=8 Horrible either way. I hope he's the last.

Re: Heartbreak...another horse dies during Santa Anita race

For the first time in years I happened to be watching the race live on TV and saw the fall as it happened. It was obvious the fallen horse would be put down and that's what happened. So heartbroken about this. Got to be answers. Just got to be. Chart says they clipped heels. Do we wanna blame the s...

Re: Jockey Club Gold Cup

And I dearly hope this is the end of the blinkers experiment for Tacitus. No idea why they kept them on him after the Travers. Just an observation but I think he might be the type that pulls himself up once he gets the lead. If the pace is fast enough, his momentum could carry him passed horses and...

Re: Jockey Club Gold Cup

Code of Honor has been such a pleasant surprise this year. He tends to get a pace setup, but he's just a quality horse. Vino Rosso was also dead game. Disappointed by Preservationist, who never seemed in it. And I dearly hope this is the end of the blinkers experiment for Tacitus. No idea why they k...

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

I've never understood why it can't be both. He's an excellent horseman who has pulled off some of the most remarkable training jobs in history. He also keeps an entire racing jurisdiction in his pocket and is thus given more leeway than virtually anyone else in the sport- not just by legislators, bu...

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

Layden is an excellent journalist, and it's a well-reasoned and well-researched article with an unfortunate slant towards Baffert (My main reservation is this section, which is particularly troubling: "First, Baffert. He is an easy target and there are some in the game who would like to see him fall...

Not the most compelling rendition, I'd suggest. No wonder why Mott has it under consideration for Elate.
Is Tacitus on the shelf.......I don’t remember reading anything about him since the Travers.
I believe he'll be running in the JCGC this weekend. He's been working towards it.
