El Tormenta won the Woodbine Mile for the home team!!!
This gelding has really improved since Cox figured him out. Fantastic to see Sam-Son win this with another homebred!!!

Re: Jockey club exploring 140 mare cap per stallion

Anyone who thinks this isn’t a good idea... 245 mares??? Are they building an Into Mischief army? I know he’s HOT, but give the horse a chance to live to 20.

Sam-Son selling their “best”. I’m kind of bummed about this because I love seeing their horses run. I will still follow these horses, but it won’t be the same.

Obviously I don't know a lot on this but this graphic was posted on twitter which might help put it in perspective https://mobile.twitter.com/Joe_Nevills/status/1169982640755286017 IMG_20190907_070247.jpg Let me put it this way Coolmore have paid Gazillions of dollars to have the rights to American...

Re: Jockey club exploring 140 mare cap per stallion

Better for the gene pool... and better for the stallions... and reduces big farms monopolizing the breeding industry. Win win win.

Majestic Harbor is a G1W by Rockport Harbor and 1/2 to another G1W and he only got 18 mares in IN in 2018. But I obviously don't know if there were other factors at play.
Might not be a ton of mares in Indiana to breed to.

I thought euthanized animals can’t go for meat. Administering drugs that kill you... doesn’t seem suitable for meat.

Re: Retirements 2019

G1-winner Force the Pass is retired and will stand in Maryland at Anchor & Hope Farm for a reasonable $4000 fee. Totally think this horse is a steal at that price, given his pedigree, conformation and ability. He was a “force” at 3, and may not have been as brilliant later on, but I won’t forget his...

Even though the party appears to be over, Catalina Cruiser edged Giant Expectations in a thrilling stretch duel to repeat in the Pat O'Brien.
That was a good run by Catalina Cruiser - the pace was hot, he was wide, looked like GE was going to get by and Cruiser found an extra gear.

Re: Travers 2019

I’ve certainly never had any thoughts of malice towards the horse. I just have come to the conclusion that he doesn’t have a discernible turn of foot. Does he need that to win a G1? No but it does mean tinkering needs to be done. I trust Mott if he thought that bad luck was the root cause of Tacitu...
