Re: In memoriam 2020

Decent running daughter of Kantharos, 6yo Yorkiepoo Princess was euthanized on January 3rd, after developing severe laminitis following surgery late last year. She had been mentioned here on TBC quite a few times during her career, which had some fine moments. RIP. WarBiscuit oh no-- i love her nam...

Re: FIRES IN AUSTRAILIA

I'm don't know where all the farms are, but most of the farms are away from the forest fires where it's taking place. I know one person who lives in the national park had the back of her house burned and nothing else (surprisingly according to her) even her brumbies survived the fire. But I don't t...

FIRES IN AUSTRAILIA

I am wondering about the horses in Australia-- racing and breeding: haven't heard anything so I am hoping the horse farms are not affected. I was thinking about Winx, Black Caviar and others and wondering if they are safe. I don't know anything about the geography of Australia.. My heart is breaking...

Re: Favorite Horses of the Decade (2009/10 - 2019/20)

American Pharoah Ended the long drought becoming the 12th Triple Crown Winner. Had younger fans on the edge of their seats who had never experienced the Triple Crown thrills. Appears to be starting a memorable legacy in the breeding shed. What's not to like? Don't forget he has the personality of a...

This wonderful powerful article needs to get national attention--- someone should send it to the LA Times and the New York Times.

The nbc article could've at least gotten Mongolian groom's gender right..they called him a colt..he was a GELDING..I didn't bother reading the comments being posted in the comments section..I don't currently have enough sanity or patience to deal with the amount of ignorance most of those comments ...

Wish Vino would race on one more year- just coming into his own. With all of those big money races next year he could have a Gun Runner- type campaign and go for HOY. Curlins improve with age- sad we will not get to see this with Vino. Liam's Map retiring made me the angriest i'd ever been about a ...

Re: Breeders Cup Discussion?

The saddest thing about horses is that they are fatally flawed: 99 out of 100 times a horse that breaks a leg has to be put down --for all of the reasons we understand and it is horrible- some are saved and are able to survive and live out their life. I also think think that some horses could be sav...

McKinzie did not like being hit by the whip in deep stretch and lashed his tail to show his displeasure. Wha...

Emtech went down in a heap in the stretch of the 8th race...right in the middle of NBCSN's nationwide coverage.
The screens are out on the track, and I fear we've lost Emtech, along with Santa Anita's decent safety record since early June. :(

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

he CHRB is a prime example of why racing has an image problem, the people running the show have conflicts of interest. Not just in California, but all over the country. In my years as an owner, I can say without a doubt, thoroughbred racing is an insular, political world, and it doesn't want any ou...
