Re: Horse Racing is now officially a joke

I left horse racing, never to return, when I was 11 and Majestic Prince was robbed of a Belmont win. Since then, I estimate that I've vowed never to return approximately 300 to 400 times. Based on historical precedent, I'm guessing that my outrage over the Derby will last about two weeks. (I'm stil...

Re: Derby contenders - Horse by Horse

Poor Patch. He has the best story in this field and the sentiment increases for me when I look at his pedigree. He is the only one in the race with a double dose of Seattle Slew in his tree. Now he draws the 20 hole. I am still going to root for him but I wouldn't wager on him.

Re: The Kentucky Derby Field

Poor Patch. He was my favorite story and he has my favorite pedigree(2x Seattle Slew). Not only does he have one eye, he gets the outside post. I still want him to win though. Sentimental vibes and all. As far as handicapping goes, I think this race sets up for an upset. I just haven't decided who y...

My 2 favorites of many Durkin calls are the 1995 Breeder's Cup Classic and 2007 Belmont Stakes. EPIC calls.

Michigan fan leaves miniature flag on yard of Urban Meyer's home Headed for a potentially epic edition of The Game, one Michigan fan took the rivalry seriously enough to head behind enemy lines -- and directly into Urban Meyer's yard. http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/17919376/michiga...

Re: NFL 2016

Wow! So sad. I met Sam Huff at the 1992 Breeder's Cup @ Gulfstream park. He was a really nice guy. I believe he was connected with Saratoga Dew in the Distaff somehow. I had a 'walkaround' pass and could be by the seats where all the owners sat. Anyways, something happened to that horse in the race ...

Can we talk about Game of Thrones , now that it's been six days since the season finale? :!: SPOILERS...stop here if you haven't watched the last episodes. * So...Jon Snow? There is a feeling of destiny about Jon and Dany hooking up, but... Game of Thrones is not a fairytale. That is too much like ...

I am hoping for a Rachel's Valentina/Weep No More exacta.
Sentimental, of course. I just love WNM's pedigree. 3x3 to Seattle Slew-I loved her 2nd dam Flute. :D

Kentucky Oaks?

Is there no thread here dedicated to the girls or do I have to dig through every thread to find it?
Seems like in the past there was always a thread dedicated to the Oaks. What gives? I am not going to dig to find it. Perhaps, if there is one, it can be stickied?

Re: NFL Draft - 2016

Best, riskiest draft picks of Round 1 A lot of really good prospects came off the board on Thursday during the first round of the 2016 NFL draft, and I was impressed with the work of several teams in terms of their ability to draft for need while still getting good value. But there were also a few ...

I am mad that Arizona likely gets a win because they will get to play a Bradyless Pats team.
The stupid Cards and their red-faced coach are so lucky. But still, Carson will never get them a ring. He's no Warner and never will be.

Re: Prince has died

I guess there is only one way to get all Prince's unreleased music now(especially the stuff from his vault). It is through TIDAL, a new music service provider founded by JayZ(I hate him, don't even get me started). It costs about 10 $ a month for full access. You can sample songs without joining up....

Re: Prince has died

This one put me in tears. Prince was my all-time favorite musical artist(and I listen to a lot of music and genres). He was only 57 and didn't abuse drugs ever so it really shocked me. My sister(nurse)said it is probably a heart attack or he had an illness he wasn't sharing with the public. Prince w...
