Re: Photos/News about Broodmares

Wondering of Uma or Tachyon can make sense of this tweet about Marble Cake? I don't see a produce record for yet though she's 8 now.

Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

^^ She's chestnut, going grey. Called that when she was born, she was highly hyperpigmented. Good to see her growing up. Colerful Chrome is registered as a chestnut. Can that be changed later if she does begin to gray out? I'm assuming they can update that. Happens sometimes when they register befo...

Re: Stallion News

Little more info in the Blood Horse article: Yes, it was a 3 year term. "The economy in Chile is not as strong as it was during those first two years, there has been a management change at the farm, and the horse has just bred five seasons back to back," California Chrome bred 145 mares his first se...

Re: Stallion News

That post really says nothing.
More Than Ready has been shuttling every single season, to Australia, for like 17 or 18 years in a row now.
Can't see a young stallion needing a rest this early. Curious.

Re: Stallion News

It's been 2 SH seasons for him. I also heard that he may not have attracted as many mares there as hoped. Well then you heard wrong. Unlike the U.S., where something upwards of 20k Thoroughbred foals are born each year, Chile produces less than 5000. Chrome was received like a rock star there both ...

I thought Chrome's contract was for 3 seasons in Chile. He's not stood 3 there yet has he?

Re: Royal Ascot 2019

Blue Point has been retired https://www.racingpost.com/news/latest/blue-point-retired-to-stud-after-incredible-royal-ascot-double/387266 Sad to see him be retired so early in the year, but between Meydan and Ascot, he's already won some great races in 2019. I'm sure they considered keeping him arou...

1st Chad Brown - now Asmussen....

And now another getting nailed for not paying employees...... This may be the summer of the end of horse racing, if the press has anything to do with it. https://www.horseracingnation.com/news/Department_of_Labor_Asmussen_willfully_underpaying_staff_123?fbclid=IwAR11KkLCGtz_cuqL1m2nOmFhYs1HtV0ayj_zT...

Seems they've FINALLY officially pulled the plug on Ziconic.
No word on whether he was gelded or what their plans are.

Re: Photos/News about Broodmares

I know horses generally do OK in cold weather, but doesn't a 21-year-old champion deserve a bit more shelter than an open shed? I can assure you that Sam-Son has a very nice facility in Milton and their retirees (both racehorses and jumpers) are well taken care of. I knew they were in Ontari...

Does anyone know when or how Coolmore ended up with On Parade?? *Edit - I guess at Keeneland Nov 2015...
Surprised to see her in the retired field at 20 too.

Another poor showing by Instagrand.

Makes you wonder if they should have kept him in training last year when he was hot, and aimed for the 2 yr old championship. At least he'd have a stud deal by now if they had...

Not a very flattering expose out of Korea. If you were wondering where several imported horses ended up..... including 2 yr old sales purchases... Among his Ocala class, now four years old, Ace King wasn’t alone. Of the 50 bought at that auction that were sent to Korea—one stayed in the States to ra...

Oh wow. This is as big a defection as I can remember. Definitely bigger than I Want Revenge.

The cynic in me imagines he won't race again but they kept bringing Normandy Invasion back.
Well, they did just announce his stud deal already this week.... ;)
