Re: New Conformation Photos

Candid shot of Take Charge Indy by Housatonic back in the states. Anybody see any issues with him? Obviously you can't tell from a photo but a user on here was claiming he was lame and did not need to be mounting mares and they would never breed to him. Not him, but I did see a video of More Than R...

Re: Foals of 2020

@ Sequel Stallions First foal for Destin is a colt out of Jurere (Take Charge Indy). In an interesting twist, the baby looks like grandpa (or at least he does for now, he could possibly gray out). The colt's third dam is Weekend Surprise . Colt was bred by Saratoga Glen Farm. Totally a grey baby :-)

Re: New Conformation Photos

Perhaps I missed it, but went back a few pages and did not see this news posted. Shackleford has been sold to stand in South Korea: https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/237833/shackleford-sold-to-stand-at-stud-in-korea It was posted the day it was announced, in the Stallion News thread.

Re: Is Omaha Beach worth 45k his first season at stud?

If you want War Front, The Factor has a very similar race record and he is available for $17,500. There is a lot of quality out there in the $40K to $50K range: Constitution, Liams Map, Hard Spun, Frosted, Distorted Humor, Tiznow. You can get The Factor for a bit less than his advertised fee too. I...

Re: Stallion News

Ahsford still list American Pharoah's stud fee as private, but according to an article I read, his fee has gone up to $175,000 this year, from $110,000 last season.

Remember when Storm Cat was cloned, for polo breeding? Re: New Conformation Photos

Call me crazy, but I'm feeling more Storm Cat than Galileo when I look at The Ferryman. Maybe it's a bit of 'Cat fire. ;) Whichever great bay sire you think he resembles, IMHO that's a really handsome horse. I'm drawing a blank on his race record, and I'm too tired to head over to RacingPost to do ...

Re: Stallion News

I don’t particularly find Max Security an enticing stallion prospect. Sure, he can run. WHY did they decide to start him in a $16,000 maiden claiming race? That’s a pretty cheap race! What the hell was/is wrong with him? It makes me suspicious. Anyone able to identify a claiming horse that has gone...

Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

I've mentioned this before in the black thoroughbreds thread but from what I've seen researching black horses Europe seems to want to register everything that isn't chestnut as bay. No dark bay/brown or even brown, absolutely no black. There definitely aren't many horses registered as black in Euro...

Re: Stallion temperament or personality

Tapit has been named as a producer of headcases, but does anyone know if Tapit himself has a certain temperament? And of course the mare's temperament can also influence the kiddo. Tapit likely gets it via Pulpit, and his dam Preach. Preach was a hot headcase and Pulpit ran hot and exciteable as we...

So apparently Super Saver and Daredevil off to Turkey according to twitter. Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

From what I've seen the flaxen gene tends to be carried by chestnuts the most, although probably the most "recognized" source of flaxen in the U.S. is Include , a carrier, who is bay with a little bit of blonde in his tail. The mechanism of flaxen is not known yet. It's not a gene you can breed for...
