Re: 2019 Keeneland September

Whenever I see an old favourite in a cheap claimer or a cute OTTB or even these yearlings available for $1000-$2000, I think, well that's reasonable. I can afford that, right? Then I remember the $1500~ it will cost per month to keep said horse in a nice, full care, facility, with regular vet and f...

Re: Stallion News

I don't think in this case we went looking for politics, although it sometimes seeps into remarks in the threads and forums. But in this specific case, politics came into horse racing. It's "news" however relevant or irrelevant we might consider it individually, it was reported/posted on a fairly vi...

Kurofune is more or less pensioned I think. Was left out of the stallion parade along with King Kam back in Feb.

Her connections are happy with her effort.
It sounds like she will race on in Europe. :D
I'm glad she's staying to compete in Europe! I hope she gets extra bananas to prepare for her next race.

Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

I would think it's a registry thing, since greys in the US are registered grey/roan (gr/r) but unless something has been discovered recently afaik modern TBs don't have it currently in the gene pool.

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

Regardless of alleged bias in any direction, the fact remains: Justify tested positive for a substance that can act as a PED and was in fact prohibited when he raced. He also tested positive at FOUR TIMES the allowed limit, if the numbers given are correct. It stinks to high heaven all around. Getti...

Also, you know, happy she'll be with Mandy Pope. Hope she turns out to be one heck of a runner.

Well, they value durability and stamina in addition to brilliance, and Shadai made mention of the fact they liked his versatility with dirt and grass so I am certainly happy they are looking towards him. Yep this, pretty much. And both of those fillies have a very nice dam side, as well, ...

Is there a video of him limping? That bandage could just be covering a superficial wound or scrape while it heals, and jumping a mare wouldn't necessarily be a problem at all. Those type of bandages are always a bit bulky and can look moreso once they are stretched due the bending of the joint. It ...

Both of those finishes are super impressive - Tower of London's for his closing kick (so glad they finally found his best distance!!) and Trois Etoiles's because the rest were never any threat. A great weekend for Lord Kanaloa!

The first post about Al Jannah referred to "her," so I had the impression this youngster was a filly. If I knew he was a colt, I might not have compared him to Zenyatta. Or, maybe I still would have. :P  Yeah you weren't the only one (we're both blind I guess, it's obvious when I go back and *...
