Re: Foals of 2020

@ Northview Stallion Station First foal for Hoppertunity is a filly out of stakes winner Rhythm In Shoes (Rhythm). The filly is a half-sister to 7 winners. The dam's broodmare sire is Fred Astaire , a name I don't see in a lot of pedigrees. https://www.paulickreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/u...

OK has anyone seen a Justify without a blaze yet?
Most of the mares have had white markings too, though. I don't see it as that unusual??

Re: New Conformation Photos

Don't see anything wrong in the hind, but boy is he upright through the fore pasterns . He's always was. I saw him last Sunday and he seemed to be walking fine. Hasn't there been rumor/speculation about him being lame since before he returned to the US from Korea? You'd think they'd be put t...

That's teeny tiny pocket rocket racemare Melody Lane (Orfevre) in the foreground, saddle cloth #1 and one of the favorites, Red Genial (King Kamehameha) saddle cloth #2. Melody Lane was 9th (too long for her, I think) and Red Genial finished 7th. vid clip of the G2 Nikkei Shinshun Hai at Kyoto (turf...

Re: The rise of Sunday Silence

I loved this vid clip of Mr Yahagi riding Lys Gracieux in the walking ring... though her handlers must have been praying the whole time, since he wasn't wearing a helmet  https://twitter.com/ReineMinorucats/status/1218795203626037248 and this photo of her with her groom, Kitaguchi-san via @an...

Sales topper so far, Deep Impact x Elusive Wave (IRE) colt for $5 million/580M JPY  apparently the second-highest foal price in JRHA history... http://tinyurl.com/y75mkubw Prominent Japanese owner Riichi Kondo secured the Elusive Wave colt, who he said has the potential to become an internat...

Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

I think it's really funny when I'm looking at pictures on Google and I come across someone's fantasy stable blog. https://fortunaracing.weebly.com/active-thoroughbreds.html LOL I was just scrolling and not paying any attention to the saddle cloths and all of a sudden I saw Secretariat and was like ...

Re: Bramlage's Mongolian Groom report

I think the biggest a-ha for me, being a layperson essentially even though I have a lot of riding & horse experience - I wasn't very knowledgeable about bilateral lameness and its effects, which seems like it might be a lot more prevalent than one might suspect but stays hidden by its nature. I alwa...

Re: Bramlage's Mongolian Groom report

When I fractured ribs from my horse flipping over on me, nothing showed on the xrays. The healed fractures showed up on the xrays I needed 6 months later when I had another xray taken. And my x-ray (I broke a rib coughing once when I had pneumonia) was read clean at the time, only for me to get a p...

Re: Bramlage's Mongolian Groom report

I had to stop after the radiographs and description of how the injury unfolded; it made me sick to my stomach. On the one hand, it's totally understandable how MG "slipped through the cracks" - because he exhibited no other signs of anything wrong aside from stiffness. (But now I wonder about all th...

Re: The rise of Sunday Silence

So I'm not entirely sure, hopefully tachyon can translate better and/or knows more - but it appears that Mer de Glace has an injury of some sort. Graham Pavey says it seems like he might recover and be able to race in the fall? It sounds like he is getting some sort of stem cell treatment & exercisi...
