Re: Calumet Thread

Since this is a thread focused on Calumet, does anyone know if they still own California Chrome's first-born foal, a colt out of Pay the Man? The colt would be a 2-year-old this year.

Re: New Conformation Photos

was that regarding a pic of him in the breeding shed in korea with his back leg bandaged? that happened but we have no context, or i never got any, anyway. For what it's worth the leg that was bandaged (left back) doesn't appear to have any visible issues. If he broke his leg or a part of it, and t...

Re: Stallion News

What lovely sentiments from Mr. Yoshida. I'm very glad the horse went to Japan as he would have never been fully appreciated here in the States . What stallions are appreciated here in the states anymore other than small number who become commercially successful? For example, take a look at Constit...

The late Lucky Pulpit did very well today.

Fashionably Fast won the California Cup Sprint.

Ward 'n Jerry and Cono finished second and third in the Unusual Heat Turf Classic.

Sacred Rider was third in the California Cup Derby.
Lucky Pulpit is underrated.

Re: New Conformation Photos

There's nothing perfect in this world, not even snowflakes despite what we were told as kids. So I'm always loathe to criticize a horse. I'm super glad TCI is back in Kentucky where he will have his chance at better mares. Overall he's a handsome stallion in a plain brown wrapper. That said, he appe...

Re: Stallions and Mares Stolen in Attack on Al Shaab Stud

am i really that bad at explaining my thought process?? You were crystal clear. Your own words, "i wasn't attacking Chrome fans, specifically. i was attacking the crazy horse fans in general..." What do ANY fans have to do with those horrible incidents? The fact that you linked what, in your opinio...

Re: Why chrome was sold

I have always wondered about the whole idea of the better studs should have a homogeneous look to their offspring. I sometimes wonder if it is a more modern take on things when it seems most Euro stallions have several strains of Northern Dancer and most American stallions have several strains of M...

Re: Stallions and Mares Stolen in Attack on Al Shaab Stud

partly because of... THOSE racing "fans"... the "they're going to turn Chrome into a burger!" ones... i wonder how much strain these 2 attacks will put on selling/loaning/shuttling overseas. it was brought up after the first, but this is 2 in quick succession. What the heck do Chrome's fans have to...

Re: Stallion News

Thanks for the update Ridan. My heart breaks to know our champion is gone to another country. It’s been a rough year and following Chrome has been a bright spot in it. Just wish he was appreciated in his home country. You're welcome, PT. I'm very sad that he was sold, but am optimistic about ...

This is a thread on this one specific article moreso than Chromes overall sale...I'm glad they released an article detailing the thought process behind it. I'm hoping it'll somewhat silence the Chromies I still see sqwaking on fb Thanks for speaking from on high there, TapitsGal. We wouldn't want t...
