Re: Birding?

Another obvious escapee... An African Grey was sitting on the motel sign just now. Our maintenance man needs to replace some wiring in the sign that caught fire in the last storm. It shorted. John, maintenance guy, brought the ladder out to see what wiring he had to get. Parrot had a temper tantrum....

Re: Birding?

I live close to a trailer court that has sunfish, koi and other bird catchable fish. My osprey recognized me. There's a bald eagle regular, I call him Marsh Mike. He fishes in the morning then spirals up to play in clouds. Crows everywhere and the vultures are playing lake scenes this week. I always...

Re: Daily Laugh

Stark, in Europe they use identity chips in the neck. More humane, faster application, less painful to the horse. One shot, chip in. And the horse doesn't try to remove your hand if it goes near its mouth for a week.

Re: Daily Laugh

I once worked at the hospital on base for the plant manager... think hospital maintenance. One nurse was a total pain. Most of the work was done by the main base civil engineers, think plumbing, carpentry, painting, whatever. One nurse was hated by all of CE because she called for things like some t...

Re: Daily Laugh

I found...or rather it found me...a long bed dump truck with a bad transmission. It just wallowed by unable to get out of 3rd gear. Poor driver was getting left leg exercise. Vrooomaaarh...vroomaaahr...vroomaaahr...no higher. You could hear the driver yelling at the truck transmission from my kitche...

Re: The VENT Thread

I'll be nice. It was the third day the new discharged patient lounge was open and the nitwit had not worked that process before. I was in all day Tuesday, went in Monday night. It was Wed morning. Mon and Tues were his days off. He was confused as well as being dumb. He did apologize.

Re: The VENT Thread

That was an interesting Monday night. I was stuck in the ER till 5 A M. I got there at the same time as the remnants of a 5 car pile up on I75. Gurneys everywhere. I got stuck on a corner, no rooms for everyone. I'm right in front of the resuscitation trauma center. I had firemen going past me doing...

Re: The VENT Thread

I went home from the hospital yesterday. Guess where I am now? Same place. I really do not want any more conversations with kidney stones. You can't always get what you want.

Re: Santa Anita 2019

Just as a dumb question, what does Santa Anita's surface have to do with a heart attack? Does PETA really believe the surface caused it? Does PETA have a new regimen for humans that could stop human heart attacks? Just stay away from horse tracks! Never go near dirt again! No more heart attacks! Jus...

Re: Horrible Names For Horses

Nothing wrong with Violence as a name. I've seen a lot of horses it would fit. Horses are not lap dogs. I've had them attempt to kill me. One Arab stud kicked his owner 15 feet through the stall, across to the wall of the barn and she hit about 7 feet up the wall opposite. Then he went back to screa...

Re: MIDWEEK MAYHEM + BOTS: 6/5 @ GULFSTREAM

Ruff, I'm stuck in a hospital bed again. Can't play Wed, will try to play Sat. I have an argument going on with a kidney stone. Drs are playing musical pill bottles. The other site is blocked by the hospital somehow. Email me, I can explain better that way.

Re: The VENT Thread

It has to be an accident. A dr actually showed up that listened. They believed I hurt... they gave me a slug of morphine. I may hurt, but I don't care. I get to have a collection of different scans of various places. I may even have convinced her that I knew where it hurt. That alone is an improveme...

Re: The VENT Thread

That's absolutely true about drs and specialties. I go in with a seizure and the heart bunch finds me first. Good luck, neurology. I'm hid somewhere they put heart patients. Come in with kidney stones... neurology finds me first, I'm hid on the 9th floor. They don't even speak to me about kidney. I'...

Re: The VENT Thread

Back in my home away from home.
If they tell me again my kidney stone is imaginary I will own the joint. Motrin doesn't quite do any good. Drs are just like anyone else. Just dumber.
