Re: Boycott of Bloodhorse and Stronach Tracks

^ and this is part of the reason why... maybe consider letting it drop, stark, but I don't want to tell you or anyone else how to conduct themselves, so that's a consideration only. I got chewed out on a different (non-racing) board yesterday because someone didn't like the particular adjective I us...

What the hell happened to this place?
It's symbolic of horse racing in general
or of humans interacting in cyberspace... casual conversations in virtual space generally do not make for good discourse.

RIP Pioneerof the Nile... you were my Derby pick in 2009 and my 2nd favorite out of that crop (Musket Man!!).

At least he has a number of promising stallions in the shed to pass on the genes...

And his papa is still alive.
And back from overseas... thanks for reminding me.

OK, so the mystery continues as to who is the registered black among the Derby noms.
I'm kind of liking LRT a bit now though, despite his name.

Long shot Long Range Toddy took down Improbable in the Rebel Part 1, and he's a registered black.

The lone registered black nominated for the Derby... I was wondering who that was

Regarding the potential change of venue for the BC- haven't the tickets already gone on sale? Maybe thst wouldn't be such a big deal. :?:

PETA demonstrators are currently picketing outside the LA county DA's office. Can't say I blame them and I hate animal rights activists, for the most part.

Re: Santa Anita 2019

For my part, I may not want to watch for a while. I was at the track one for a major break down that occurred on the Hollywood Park turf course. It happened in the stretch and it was sickening. I don't ever want to see that sort of thing again. It can make you want to walk away from the sport. I'm ...

Re: 2019 Three-Year-Olds

Good to hear. He deserves another chance especially since he seems to be one of the more talented on the trail thus far. It's certainly not going to ruin the horse to run in one more Derby prep. But where does the cycle end? So he gets a relatively easy final Derby prep, let's say like Pulpit or Ho...

Re: 2019 Three-Year-Olds

Hidden Scroll is still on the Derby Trail for now. I posted a link to an article from TDN with interview quotes from his connections under Horse Followings. They said they are not going to give up just yet. They want to wait and see how he does the next few weeks. They think he ran well considering...

Re: 2019 Three-Year-Olds

Of the horses farther back than mid-pack early Bourbon War was the only horse to close any ground at all. Conversely the only forwardly placed horse to drop completely out of it was the horse that ultimately finished last. Not sure how to read into the pace and the track since there are enough unkno...

Hanalei's Houdini fell just before the wire in LRL1 today. I might have missed an update... anyone know about the jock or the horse?

Never mind. Both are okay, TVG just reported.

Re: 2019 Three-Year-Olds

I think what he meant by that was Manny Wah is because he is MSP and GSP, that implies that because he has performed well in stakes races, and therefore he is considered a quality horse (at least in Haskin's eyes). Kind of like how a breeder will list a horse in their stallion's progeny as a "stake...

Ugh, I remember Freedom's Daughter since I had just put her in my virtual stable after her Schuylerville win... that was a devastating and sudden death. Colitis X was the diagnosis, if memory serves. Left Bank was fantastic... he's certainly one of my favorites trained by Pletcher. (@thinair the Jer...

Re: Baffert's Most Talented Trainee

I forget the exact question, but the answer Pincay gave in one interview was Landaluce! The greatest quote concerning Landaluce was from Ray Sabille who rode the runner up in the Hollywood Lassie. After the race he mischievously tried to ride his mount into the winner’s circle. When asked why, Sabi...

This rivals my dinner of 3 spoon fulls of peanut butter covered in greek yogurt and maple syrup. That sounds better than the Chinese takeout I had on Friday. Tonight it was cold noodles. I honestly eat very well, I'm just so tired when I get home I can't care! Same. I just ate sauteed tofu a...
