Re: Your favorite horse ever. 1 horse.
John Henry. Because he was talented, tough, consistent, and just a little bit ornery. I was at Arlington for the first Million. I'd always been a fan of John Henry, but that race confirmed it for me.

Re: Joe Taylor's book on breeding and racing racehorses
Just checking to see if there are any takers. I should have noted in my original post that I just want the book to find a good home with someone who's interested in breeding / pedigrees. It's free.

Joe Taylor's book on breeding and racing racehorses
Back in my freelancing days. I wrote an article about Kentucky Thoroughbreds. Taylor Made was one of the farms I featured. When I visited, they gave me a copy of Joe Taylor's "Complete Guide to Breeding and Raising Racehorses." I read it, then tucked it away in a box. I'm trying to pare down my book...

I'm glad you're home. I hope the rest of your recovery goes well, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you'll be able to go to Saratoga. I always enjoys your posts and photos from there.

I seldom post but I had to say, welcome back, Cladan. I've miss your posts and insights on the Phipps stable. Wishing all the horses a good year.

So Mi Dar, Dar Re Mi's 2yo filly by Dubawi, broke her maiden first time out on Tuesday at Windsor.

Re: Derby Artwork on Woodford Reserve Label
Carole, one of your bottles is getting ready to make a trip to England. A British company we do a lot of business with invited us over for a factory visit. We're taking a bottle of Woodford Reserve as a gift for our hosts.

Very nice, Carole. So happy to see your beautiful work recognized.
Peeptoad, is there a Sam's Club near you? That's where I found my bottle.

Re: Best internet racing comments
Someone thinks Lady Eli should run in the Kentucky Derby because she's so good, she'd send chills through all the other Derby trainers even though she's never run on dirt. I think Lady Eli is a very nice filly, and I'm looking forward to her races this year. On turf. Against other fillies. The stupi...

For serenassong
Because I know you like to keep track of Serena's family (and just in case you haven't seen the article).

Re: Any RVers here?
Thanks for the information, Bal. Maybe we'll be neighbors. Ours is a 2004 Fleetwood Revolution, 39'. We decided to buy our first one used, thinking we wouldn't feel so bad about selling it if it turned out that we didn't enjoy "camping." The Horse Park is on our list. We only live about 3 hours from...

Re: Any RVers here?
Thanks, IC. I think it's going to be fun. We've already planned a few short trips to help us get used to everything. I have to get comfortable with driving it. DH says it shouldn't be hard since I used to drive a VW microbus, but I'm pretty sure he was joking. It will be nice to have Rufus and Prude...

Re: flying question
My husband has had both hips replaced. He gets either a pat down or scan every time he flies. He has the medical form explaining that he has joint replacements, but that has not been helpful. If you set off the alarm, they are going to check you out. I'd still inform the TSA agent so they'll know wh...

Any RVers here?
DH and I just took the plunge and bought a vacation home on wheels. Both of us are complete novices at this, so I would appreciate any advice, tips, suggestions for great places to visit (are there RV campgrounds in the Saratoga area, for example), etc. We took it on its maiden voyage this past week...

I always dress up for Churchill and Keeneland. But that's just me. I love hats and dresses, so I'll use any excuse to wear them. I'm much more casual for a Saturday afternoon at Pea Patch.
Whatever you wear, have fun and enjoy the experience.

Very sorry to hear about Urbane. She was a favorite of mine in her racing days, and I always followed her foals. I hope this last one is healthy and turns out to be a good racehorse.

Happiness is ...
a new motorcycle. I'm content to sit in the passenger seat, but this one is definitely going to be fun.
