Re: Keeneland November Sale

Just got home and logged in. Already saw one mare sold to California Chrome, LLC, agent for Perry Martin (Hip 272). Anyone notice any other mares they've bought already? Gonna spend that Love the Chase cash quick :D *Nevermind....found 5 they bought, including Hip 418... Evasion (Empire Maker-Insid...

Re: RIP Materiality (but what is going on here)

Maybe I'm too cynical, but perhaps all the non-communication issues come from that ' the insurance company owned him at the time of his death ' piece of info. If the insurance company decided to cut its losses by euthanizing him, and the previous owner felt that he could have been saved, maybe only...

Re: What is this owner/trainer doing?

He's doing it to get a check. In her last start she got him $260 for running last. That's how the cheap guys make money off slow horses. Run the tar out of them to pick up as many checks as they can. If they beat a couple, great, if not, they still get a few hundred dollars for sending them out. Jus...

Re: Matings 2016

Common Hope (dam of Shared Belief) --> Tapit I would guess that Common Hope returned to Candy Ride ( maybe more than once? ) due to Shared Belief's excellence. Would this be the first time she's gone to a new stallion? She has a '14 Henrythenavigator filly that is unnamed and a '15 Victory Gallop f...

I believe they usually stream it on NBCSports.com. Or one of their websites.

He was our horse's regular rider last year. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Very sad about Sawyers Mickey. Less than a 1/16th of a mile from his first win :-( RIP.

Sawyers Mickey broke down pretty badly in a maiden special weight in race 6 at Thistledown.

Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

If anyone wants a fancy bred gelding Mahoning Valley is the place to be. Just on the 9th you can pick up Tariff (Pulpit x Toll by Giant's Causeway) for $5,000. Toll is a winning daughter of Yell. He started 20 times last year  And if that's not enough, you can also grab fellow Claiborne bred,...

Re: Highest RNA

Azeri's first foal, the ill-fated Take Control (then named Vallenzeri) was a $7.7M RNA at Kee Sept in 2008. He sold for $1.9M at Kee Apr the next year. Azeri herself was a $4.4 million RNA. Sold later that year for $2,250,000. I believe her and Take Control's RNAs were because Michael Paulsen was t...

Re: Custom Hats

I was hoping to get one with our silks on it. Wasn't sure if a regular custom site would be able to.

I've ordered from Horse Hats several times. Was surprised the email came back. Unless she just isn't doing customs anymore?

Custom Hats

Not a clue where to put this and didn't want to clutter the racing or breeding boards but was curious if anyone knew where/how to order custom racing hats? I'd like to order some as a present to my parents for their racehorse(s). I attempted to email horsehats.com but the email came back as undelive...

Re: State Bred Races

Some states don't even have rules that extensive. We have an Ohio-bred '14 filly by Gemologist. The mare was bred to Sidney's Candy for a '15 foal, and to Tale of the Cat for a '16 foal. She resides in Ohio, and all of her foals are registered as Ohio-bred. Yeah, we send a lot of mares back and for...

Re: Foals of 2016

Most vets will tell you not to even look at the legs for 30 days and then you can make a decision for periosteal stripping or something like that. We had one last year that was extremely knock kneed and toed out when born and with no interference is just mildly toes out in one front. Another was qui...
