Juddmonte is pretty sporting with the distaffers, so maybe they'll give her an opportunity in one of the preps at Oaklawn. When is the Rebel?
March 14. A million dollar race at 1 1/16 distance. I think she would be extremely competitive in this race.

Re: 2019 Eclipse Awards-Predictions?

McGaughey believes some voters lack credentials to be part of the process. “Some of these guys who have a vote in West Texas or something, he wouldn’t know Code of Honor from my dog,” he said. I've always liked Shug, but this is just an ignorant remark here. There are voters who lack credentials com...

Re: Santa Anita 2020

They can "asbestos-filled" or they can be "firetraps", but they can't be both. Why can’t it be both? With asbestos- filled being a descriptor for firetrap? Asbestos is the most effective fireproofing material on the planet. For example, had asbestos been used to fireproof the structure of the WTC, ...

Re: Two Zayat horses to be sold over unpaid bills

Oh please Tessa, it's not about protecting millionaires but rather about negativity seemingly 7x24. I wonder how many Paulick articles I could pull up that declare me as stupid for betting against high take-out rates. Or how many articles can I find that say I'm the fool trying to bet against the l...

Re: Princess Haya, wife of Sheikh Mohammed, Flees Dubai

Just google children camel jockeys in Dubai and see what comes up. That was quite some time ago, although I'm sure there are still "resistant pockets" in many places over there. Mostly robotic jockeys are used now. While you're googling, you might google "child trafficking in the U.S." Also "human ...

Re: Princess Haya, wife of Sheikh Mohammed, Flees Dubai

If Princess Haya chose the life she had with Sheikh Mo then I'm not feeling too sorry for her. Most abused women leave marriages with battle scars and next to nothing in a financial way. At least Haya can now begin a new life with $50m in her pocket. I say this because of the disgust I have for the ...

Re: Santa Anita 2019

I don't follow racing like I used to, but it is the TC season, and Finger Lakes is open, so I want to add my 2 cents as someone who was around in the pre Lasix days. It wasn't pretty, especially on hot summer days. At a low end track like FL, many horses were here because they were bleeders. Traine...

Re: Gary West makes an interesting challenge...

Maybe it's just me, but I actually really like what he's done here. I wish he'd withdraw his lawsuit and move on there... but I like this sort of "my horses vs your horse, 1:1" attitude. Horse racing is built on the shoulders of stupidly wealthy individuals betting each other their horse is faster ...

Re: Chad Brown has been ordered to pay more than $1 million ....

Even after reading it I sincerely doubt Chad himself is doing payroll. Does the president of your company do it? Someone he hired likely did it for him. Nowhere did I say it was an ooops. Someone was clearly negligent. How backstretch workers are treated in my opinion is looooow. Had to offset the ...

Re: Kentucky Derby : Do you agree with the stewards decision?

Hovdey: Weathering a Category 1 storm of controversy “Had we taken that horse down, I think there would have been just as much controversy as there was by leaving him up,” Chaney said this week. “Clearly there was interference at the start. The subjective application of the rules comes after that. ...

Re: Kentucky Derby : Do you agree with the stewards decision?

I love the poll here with 70/30 agreeing with the disqualification. Very predictable for a racing site, where purity is gold. After all, this is 1948. What could possibly go wrong? Meanwhile on Paulick Report they ask if the decision was Good or Bad for horse racing. The tally is 65% Bad 35% Good. ...

Re: Kentucky Derby : Do you agree with the stewards decision?

I voted yes on the decision, however, I would like to change it to "no". Everything happens so fast and the stewards are pressured to make a decision as quick as possible. After further analysis and watching two different angles I think WOW caused MS a whole bunch of problems. I believe that MS was ...

What race was Gary West watching?

Just saw Gary West on Fox News "The Story" being interviewed on his take as to what happened in the race. He has already filed an appeal and says that when frame by frame evidence of the race comes out, it will show that WOW caused the infraction and that if MS had physically lost the race, WOW coul...
