Re: Rockport Birdie and a few others

I tried finding some information on them as well, but came up empty. Will continue with the detective work though - maybe something will turn up. Thought for sure that old Trelawny was heading into retirement, and was surprised to see the workout posted. Best of luck to him - he's a popular and goo...

Re: Rockport Birdie and a few others

I didn't post because I couldn't find anything. I tried when you initially posted. Oh, okay! Thanks anyway! :) I wonder what's going on - last time I looked E E Legal didn't even have any races on Equibase, even tho I know I watched him run twice via Twinspires. But I think he was at a small Canadi...

Re: Rockport Birdie and a few others

Okay, so I guess no one can help me out? There was some forum weirdness when I posted the initial post anyway, but it now seems to be visible just fine. Ah well, thanks anyway...I do know now that Trelawny is doing good, gonna race again this year at 12, as he worked 3 furlongs at Emerald Downs yest...

Re: 2019 derby prep races.

Anybody buy-in? I did the first and the sire pool. Missed this one, tho, darn it. Anybody else doing the WinStar Fantasy Derby? I came close in the free section last year (7th); this year I'm at about the same place I was this time last year, including that I've already lost one (Kentucky Wildcat; ...

Rockport Birdie and a few others

I'm wondering about some from my virtual stable, plus a couple that I'm relatively sure are dead (but oddly enough Horse Racing Wrongs seems to be mostly ignoring Portland Meadows this season for some reason). The two I think are dead: I'lbeamonkeysuncle (pretty sure he died of a heart attack during...

Re: Rally Cap Rudy & Toody Muldoon

Maybe they are giving him a break? Turf Paradise only races October to May. He does not have a death listed on the Jockey Club, though honestly that means little. The owner/trainer have recently started horses in what I guess is the fair circuit, or maybe even rodeo circuit. I never heard of these ...

Didn't Trelawny run in Southern California? I'd be so happy for him to get a soft landing!
Yep, for a few years. Then he was claimed by another trainer at Golden Gate last year but ended up in Meeking's barn at EMD by last June. I guess Bob fell pretty hard for him. :)

A Very Special Race was run at Emerald Downs this year. It included the condition that all trainers had to be 90 years old or above, and the horses had to be older, low-level claimers. http://www.equibase.com/premium/chartEmb.cfm?track=EMD&raceDate=06/17/2018&cy=USA&rn=6 Afterward in the winners cir...

Re: Munnings foals

Barkley would have absolutely dominated the older horse division at Emerald Downs this year if it wasn't for that pesky Riser. As it is, tho, he got two wins, including the G3 Longacres Mile; 2 seconds (to Riser); and one 4th (again, losing to Riser). He actually got 5th but Riser got disqualified f...

Re: In memoriam 2018

Boo Boo Bear. One of the first I added to my virtual stable; his name and attitude made him seem so huggable. The only race of his I missed watching online, he broke down in the stretch. :( And I was surprised to find this out on Horse Racing Wrongs while looking to see if the name of another favori...

Rally Cap Rudy & Toody Muldoon

I wish I had found this forum a few months ago. I am hoping hoping HOPING that someone can help me find out what has happened to a favorite claimer of mine (and one I would claim if I won the lottery - like a lot of us say I'm sure!), Rally Cap Rudy. He's a 5 yo WA bred gelding, raced at Emerald Dow...
