Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

I don’t know why what Graham said matters? The limit is 75 and he had 300. It’s not like the 75 limit is measured different than Justify’s 300. He was wayyyy over the limit and if I read Tessa’s articles right that’s an insanely high level for just “accidental food contamination” I also stated that...

Re: Stallion News

Based on my visit to Ashford last year, there's a WHOLE lot of people who could buy the "American Pharaoh didn't bite ME!" T-shirts . :-). BTW I don't believe it either, but it it's true. . .kinda weird. :x Maybe AP can sense evil? Why does everything in our time have to be...you don't agree with m...

Re: 2019 Keeneland September

What do you mean by "feels like a publicity stunt"? Genuinely curious. If the reserve was that high, then it looks like they weren't actually willing to sell and part with the colt. I mean it could be that they genuinely decided they wouldn't let him go for less than a million, but it's impossible ...

Re: 2019 Keeneland September

That’s another one that I took care of too on the farm. So happy that both the Pharoahs the farm bred did so well. Congrats Summer Bird that's amazing! I can't imagine how thrilled you must be! Were they always this sweet as babies? The filly was actually quite spooky, but her mom isn’t the friendl...

Re: 2019 Keeneland September

Hip 923 is a filly by American Pharoah who's second dam is Magical Illusion who is also the second dam of Justify. Just missed the fireworks at 975 000$ Gorgeous filly. Pharoah is really stamping his babies with balanced structure and curious, calm demeanour. That’s another one that I took care of ...

Re: 2019 Keeneland September

Edit: There are three more Chromes slated to go through today, including a colt out of Laffina who had a very nice update to the catalogue as the half brother of Bast who won the Del Mare Debutante. (Hip 881) The other two are Hip 865 a filly out ofJet Black Magic and Hip 907 a colt by Mamma Kimbo....

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

I don't think they've been named thus far.
Another thing that came to mind is I wonder if all the prospective stud farms that wanted his breeding rights were made aware of this prior to acquiring him...

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

Yes more than whether it was intentional or not, and who is responsible or who isn't, it's the whole handling of the situation that has the sirens screaming in my head. And I love Eric Guillot's ballsy question, I am assuming there have only be crickets in response?

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

I know you have worked with a backside vet before, but do you have understanding of pharmacology in the way TB does (who if I'm not mistaken, makes her living in the field?) Because if you would you would realise the amounts found in this case are not anywhere near trace amounts, let alone amounts ...

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

I too am withholding any stance until everything develops more. The fact that nobody asked, yet Baffert's lawyer felt the need to release a statement speaks volumes. It doesn't really say anything. You do not have to be "asked" by anybody to give a statement when stories break or an accusation is m...

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

A part of me is pyrrhically justified in my general dislike and discomfort surrounding the rise and fall of this horse. Intuition maybe, I don't know but I've been so disconnected from racing this year compared to previous years, and even last year didn't follow it as closely as I normally would hav...

Re: Horrible Names For Horses

Very seldom are behavior issues a horse problem (PARTICULARLY if they've escalated to "violent"), they are almost always people created. There are plenty of people that have horses that are beyond their skill level. Plenty of people. And now back to racing. Temperament is strongly genetic and that'...

YEAH SIR WINSTON! Was just telling my friend he was one of the three I was rooting for because of his Awesome Again and Afleet Alex ancestry ;)
Shame Master Fencer went so wide, I think if the jock had been more patient he would've gotten an opening on the inside. He was closing fast.
