Re: Baltimore vs. Stronach Group

IMHO, any hope that the Preakness might stay at Pimlico was broken when most of the bathrooms broke. Turning your grandstand restrooms into stinking, spurting cesspools will not win any fans. :( And that's why Stronach let things deteriorate to that point last weekend....to make a point...an...

Re: Appeal denied

I imagine West may be a little peeved. Coolmore is probably not camped out in his front yard making $40,000,000 offers or more for the privilege of standing MS at stud. All that cash evaporated with the stewards decision. There was no planet in the solar system where Coolmore was going to offer $40...

Re: Santa Anita 2019

I think we all know there are things we are not doing very well. It seems there is no agreement on what to do to fix problems so we just stay with the status quo. That's not going to work anymore. Let's get rid of the whip. Horrible optics. Off-putting to any would be new fans (if there are any lef...

It's been a pretty uneventful reign for Belinda Stronach as monarch over family empire thus far. She's gotta be bored.

Sioux Nation will be shuttling to Australia and standing at Swettenham Stud. Americain will be moving from Swettenham to Daisy Hill.

Now this is cool... can’t wait to see how it plays out. Also, I’d like to assume after the first years we will just call them the Chad Brown Crowns. https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/232056/nyra-unveils-turf-triple-series-for-3yos-3yo-fillies It will gut the field for the G1 Secretar...

Re: 2019 derby prep races.

It was discontinued effective last year. Its always interesting to see how races fall in and out of favor. If that race wasn’t run on what is essentially a bullring, it would probably still be around. When CDI restructured the points a couple of years ago, the race was doomed. Most top trainers jus...

Re: Hoppertunity

TBH Hoppertunity is the only stallion worthy of breeding 250 mares. Dortmund got 25 mares his this year his first season standing in Maryland. In comparison, Valiant Minister (and his one-race career) received 78 mares in Florida. So regional markets are fairly unpredictable. And then, Army Mule st...

Re: 2018 Keeneland September Yearling Sale

IMHO, Americain needs to move to Australia. A Melbourne Cup-winning son of Dynaformer might be appreciated there. Americain was Leading Second Season Sire in Victoria this past season. He's stood at Swettingham Stud since retirement. He's had fairly large books in Australia and his first class is t...

Just popped on and was looking through recent results. The Declaration of Wars are really bombing late in the sale.....one sold for $4000, another sold for $5000, and another for $17,000. Either he bred some poor mares or they're awfully unfortunate looking.... The Take Charge Indy(s) bombed as wel...

Re: Old Friends

I do find it interesting that Blowen appears to have two standards: one for the superstars and one for the commoners. It's funny that he underestimated Mulhall and Blues as well. Blowen kind of skeeves me out when we get the "saint" pose with Silver Charm, Game On Dude, or the others. I can't forge...
