Re: The War Emblem thread

It's been a while (me posting to the forums and this thread's last update) but I'm itching for some news on War Emblem's sons, daughters, and grandfoals. What has All Blush been up to? Astra Emblem? I'd appreciate any available tidbit :D

Re: The War Emblem thread

I'm such a sucker for handsome black horses like him and Sunday Silence. He looks so lovely especially against all that white snow.

Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

Theatric (Bernardini x Ashado) is about to make her debut at Saratoga. Ashado has pretty much been a bust as a broodmare so far, hasn't she? I can't recall any Saint Ballados that have bred on, but she did get sent to Street Cry 3x and it's possible that's just not a match that worked. And of cours...

Re: War Emblem

Well this was unexpected and exciting news to find out while at the gym. I give this angry black speedball full credit for making me a horse racing fan for life with his Triple Crown run. After years of reading The Black Stallion series I thought he could be the one... which he wasn't And boy am I g...

Re: What Were They Thinking?

This is as generational as it gets, except for Som who is obviously an old broad in a young body. No one is going to change their minds, but I promise you that if you are busy taking pics or recording something, you are also missing something else. Above all, keep the damn thing out of my line of s...

Re: Cozmic One

Steeplechasing worked out well for Mr. Hot Stuff. Wonder if that's on the table. @Macaroni I wager the confusion is over people scrutinizing the heck out of Cozmic One, whose only claim to fame is being Zenyatta's firstborn. The same could also be said for children of celebrities, at least until rea...

Re: Mainstream Press Coverage of the TC

Friend of mine called up a billion B&Ns in her area before finally finding one that hadn't sold out. Apparently they're selling out like crazy here in LA.

You're not even trying now. Incredible. Why don't you bait the people in the comment section of the Bloodhorse articles instead? I'm sure they'll give you what you want in spades.

Re: The 12th Triple Crown winner

Gatekeepers will always have something critical to say about the newcomers. After over ten years of watching horses fail in the Belmont, I'm just laughing off every negative comment because my generation finally has a TC champion.

Re: Zenyatta News

I feel sorry for Coolmore at this point. I can only imagine the barrage of Zenyatta fanatics that were calling, emailing and stalking them. It's no wonder so many farms are so very reluctant to provide much, if any, information. Can't say I blame them at all. Personally, I'm not feeling sor...

Re: Cozmic One

Why is everyone in such a hurry to decide if he'll make a racehorse or not? It's his first race and he didn't show much. I'd give him a lot more training/schooling and a few more races before deciding if he'll do better in a second career. Sheesh.

Re: Horse of the Year (official thread)

As I think to myself very often, would we be saying this sort of stuff to people if we were facing them? Considering that people will fling slurs at each other's faces on the regular, yes, there is a very high chance that we would. I too lurk to read opinions on the thread topics, but the infightin...

does anyone know of a place where i can celebrate his win (not here apparently) while being realistic about the opportunities this win may have opened up for him next year (not facebook)? Good luck with that search and let me know if you find such a place. Heavens forbid I can lurk in threads like ...

Re: PETA Accuses Two Trainers of Cruelty to Horses

Why are we arguing about PETA's agenda (everybody knows PETA's agenda, ffs) and the contents of the 8-minute video full of edited footage? I would think those issues, contextually important as they are, aren't as serious as the heavy duty damage PETA did to the racing's public image. The public does...
