Re: Zenyatta News

I am so heartsick at the loss of Zenyatta's foal. Such a loss and a terrible bad piece of raw luck. Also sorry at the descriptions of Ann Moss as being a "fruit loop". According to whose standards? Because she is not a cookie cutter horse owner and she doesn't fit your mindset? Please. Can this boar...

Re: Kentucky Derby Day Stakes Thread

CA Chrome has really beautiful, fluid stride. Congrats to the winners! Pretty rare for an undefeated favorite to win the KD. I am very impressed with this guy.

Re: Zenyatta News

I watched it too and didn't think he was bad at all for a 2 year old colt. They are typically nippy, mouthy and they just don't yet have the manners of a grown horse. They're still very much kids, regardless of their size. I've been around some 2 year olds (even ones handled regularly and expertly) ...

Re: The name Untapable

Personally I dislike the name General A Rod more so than Untapable. I know he was named for an owner but to me it's just not a flattering name for a fine racehorse.

Re: Best Band Frontman Ever

Freddie Mercury is simply the best frontman there's ever been in my humble opinion. Charismatic, vocally superb, commanding, just a born showman. I saw Aerosmith at the height of their heydays back in the late 70's. Steven is good as a frontman, no doubt, but he wasn't just riveting. His vocals that...

Re: Cozmic One

He's still such a baby, he has alot of physical maturing and filling out yet to do. His little brother has been eye-candy since day one, but I think Coz is going to mature into a very substantial horse. Nice bone.

Re: Verbal Tee-Ups

I've always been very put off whenever someone says "well, to be completely honest", or "let me be completely honest with you", or "I'm going to be upfront with you". I mean to me that straight-out implies that you a making a conscious choice to be truthful, instead of truthfulness being a natural p...

Verbal Tee-Ups

Interesting article about those phrases people use to preface something when maybe they're trying to circumvent the real truth, or soften the blow, or say something tacky in what they think is a "nice" way. Personally, I found this very interesting. Why Verbal Tee-Ups Often Signal Insincerity http:/...

Re: Thanksgiving plans

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Our family has been sick with a virus this week, I had to miss a day of work, and it still isn't through with me. They were over it enough to leave with the grandkids (ages 4 and 6) to go see "Frozen". Cooking was out of the question. Maybe I'll feel well enough by the wee...

Re: Celebrities You Don't Like

My two daughters both say they were grown women before they ever heard a Phil Collins song all the way through. If one came on the radio, I changed it before the third note, max. I saw part of an interview with him once (couldn't stomach the whole thing) and he came off about as arrogant and as comp...

Re: Groupie Doll to run again!!!

I don't know if there would that much question about Groupie Doll if the Bradley's hadn't decided to sell her this year instead of next. If they were like other owners and had just planned all along to keep her with them in training this year and the next and so on, there wouldn't be that much quest...

Re: The VENT Thread

$10 for parking on BC day? It's $200 at Churchill Downs on Derby day ($15 if you park at the stadium, about a 20-30 min walk). Preakness it's $90 to park in the lots by the grandstand, or $10-$20 for a spot on someone's front lawn or in the infield lot, which is another long walk to get to the gran...

Re: Breeder's Cup Friday

Maybe, somewhere in the background, those regal ears of Royal Delta's are honing in on the teeny tiny whinny of a wee baby.....and that keen nose of her's wants to nuzzle the soft scent of a foal. I think she has said to hell with this racetrack business, I'm ready for the next chapter and I do beli...

I wholeheartedly agree with every one posted here already. May I add: Jennifer Lopez. She has always, always struck me as someone with way more ambition and butt than bonafide talent. And Madonna. I abhor her.
