Re: 2019 Two-Year-Olds

Honor A.P., a gorgeous, giant son of Honor Code and Hollywood Story, finished second in his sprint debut. He runs just like his sire and closed an amazing amount of ground. I think he’s very talented, but I hope he doesn’t need to be that far back going forward

Re: 2019 Two-Year-Olds

Gozilla (Flatter-Atlantic Dream-Stormy Atlantic) looked fantastic today in a maiden race at Saratoga. Myrtlewood shows up way, way back in the pedigree. I love his pedigree. Stormy Atlantic and Flatter both very underrated horses. Flatter has become a fantastic sire..... he was a really talented ho...

Re: First Winners

No article yet but I saw that Honor Code just got his first winner in the first at Laurel. It's Night Code , the colt out of Unenchantedevening . Yayyy! I know it’s only July, but I worry. He'd only had 2 or 3 starters, so while I was eager to see him get off the mark, I tried to remember this........

Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

Honorable Memory , Honor Code's first starter o/o Embroidery (More Than Ready), finished fourth on debut. She's from the family of Furthest Land, Ready For Eve, etc. She finished 3rd, and I just read the chart - ran well, finished with "good energy". That's encouraging since I don't think HC will s...

Mind Control took the Bay Shore impressively.
That makes me so happy. I wasn’t happy that they turned him back instead of pointing for the TC, bur he’s a good colt regardless and he’s fun to watch

Yay Coal Front! He is the coolest horse - Pletcher has done an amazing job bringing him back from a serious injury. He was actually pulling away at the end...I’m so happy!

I think he's gorgeous, too. I hope his runners do well. 4th year stallions seem to have a shelf life of 47 seconds before they have to learn Turkish or Korean.
I hope the fact that he's Indy's last son will buy him some time........if he needs it.

Re: Honor Code 2 year olds

I'm with Flanders. I think given the way the yearlings performed at the sales though, that this is already shaping up to be a special crop. Yearling sales prices don't mean much when they hit the track, but we'll see. Honor Code is so interesting. He wasn't precocious, but he won his debut sprintin...

Re: Honor Code 2 year olds

“He’s averaged about 150 mares a year, which for us is a very full book,” said Farish. “We are hoping to have him right about there again this year. The reports we are getting from a lot of the 2-year-old breaking farms down in Ocala have been very, very positive. “Even though you wouldn’t expect h...

Honor Code 2 year olds

Does anyone know if Honor Code's 2 year olds are well-regarded? Pretty much everything I read is about American Pharaoh, and it's hard to find anything else on Honor Code because when I Google him, I mostly get Code of Honor. I'm not expecting this guy to sire precocious babies, but he was so, so ta...

Re: 2019 Hall of Fame Finalists

I guess I'm the only one who thinks Rags to Riches is HOF worthy...........I get that she didn't have a long racing career, but it was brilliant - and winning the Belmont stakes is historic. If that were her only accomplishment, I don't think that would be enough, but it wasn't.

Rags to Riches.

I ran across this article while Googling my favorite filly, and got to thinking.....

Rags was such a tremendous filly; should she be in the Hall of Fame or was her career too short?
