Re: 2019 Breeders Cup

I've noticed local Louisville hotels appear to be preparing for the possibility of a change to Churchill.

Embassy Suites Downtown = no rooms available.
Galt House = prices are up >$100 per night from a few weeks ago.

2019 Breeders Cup

Big meeting today regarding the 2019 Breeders Cup.

Any opinions or insight on (1) should the BC be moved from SA and (2) will it be moved from SA?

Re: 2019 Met Mile

Sounds like Global Campaign is bypassing the Belmont.

He seems likely to aim for a summer campaign of state level Derbies and maybe back into the deep end in the Haskell or Travers.

Re: 2019 Kentucky Derby

Haikal is scratched, 7am ET this morning.

Unfortunate for the connections, but an obvious right move and care for the athlete.

Re: 2019 Kentucky Derby

The matchups and other props are available at the link below. Got to navigate down at left and click the "Horses" box among "Other Sports" https://www.5dimes.eu/livelines/livelines.aspx That isn't the prime site I use but it is best in terms of easily viewing what is available. Great Info! Well don...

Re: 2019 Kentucky Derby

https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/spendthrift-acquires-breeding-rights-to-omaha-beach/ Do stallion deals prior to the Kentucky Derby ever play a part in your handicapping? Are the owners preemptively striking a deal due to lack of confidence or just getting a deal done because the opportunity is...

Re: Kentucky Derby Top 5

Yeah I miss Kennedy's list, with all the variables and sound reasoning. Do we know the story on Kennedy? Is he gone from this board all together and/or has he restarted his original blog? I miss the Kennedy Corridor, which was unbelievably phenomenal, more and more each year. I learned so much abou...

Re: Breeders' Cup Picks and Analysis

Friday's Races: Juvenile Turf Sprint I actually love this race, if it's always this deep and fun to handicap it's going to be a great addition to the card. I'm staying far away from Shang Shang Shang here because of her repeated issues and Ward's apparent lack of confidence in her, although I do li...

Re: 2018 Breeders' Cup Turf (G1) - Nov 3rd

I get it ... she's a superstar and world class. But ... Arc winners are 0 for 6, 22 of the last 24 winners of the BC Turf had 3-8 starts during the year (5 of the last 7 had 6-8 starts) and she's had 2, this will be her first time on Lasix, her first time traveling across the pond, and she did have ...

BC Tickets - Section 318

If anyone is looking for tickets still, I have 1, 2, or 3 premium seats in Third Floor Clubhouse Section 318 available at face value. Friday and Saturday. I'm not a ticket re-seller, just a fan who has a box. Section 318, overlooking the winners circle, the paddock walkout, and inside the 1/16th pol...

Re: Justify/Restoring Hope...quite the duo

Look at it honestly. He performed comparably to most of the "longest priced horses in the field" as I've seen all year. Some did better, some did worse, but on average, showing speed and fading is/was predictable. The whole blinkers on-on-off-off-on-off this guy has done during his career just add ...

Re: Justify/Restoring Hope...quite the duo

I still see everyone talking about the first few furlongs, but watching Geroux drop anchor and fall from 2nd to 9th without working RH in the second turn and entering the stretch solidifies the obstructionist goal. Geroux falls through the field to 9th, luckily not causing the trouble he was intend...

Re: Justify/Restoring Hope...quite the duo

https://youtu.be/L4pkD78oKSo ^1:55 - Michael Repole looking for excuses on why Vino Rosso makes a move and then fades to 4th. Oh, yeah. Because Restoring Hope completely blocked Vino entirely in the home stretch! LOL! I don't mind this narrative with Repole turning heel. I want a rematch between Ju...

Re: Belmont Saturday Watchalong thread

I agree with others ... Justify didn't need an escort. But for some reason ... he was given one. And you think it was all premeditated and when the cameras weren't on him in the saddling ring Florent was nodding in agreement to his riding assignment from Baffert? I'm open to another interpretation ...

Re: Belmont Saturday Watchalong thread

It turns out Restoring Hope was aptly named. Sounds like the name of an insurance policy and that is exactly what he ended up being. I feel for the horse and owners most. Legal ... yes. Bad optics ... yes. I just want to know why BB felt he needed an insurance policy. Restoring Hope broke slow and t...
