I wonder if this El Kabeir will turn grey? There is a 2018 colt listed for this pairing but doesn't say the color.

I'm not seeing the "goggles" you typically see on a foal that will be gray.

I don't think that's possible, as El Kabeir just entered stud last year.

I just looked again on TPQ and there's even more listed now for El Kabeir besides the one I mentioned as well as a 2017 filly named El Didino out of Didinas. Honest :shock:

Yeah, anyone can put something on that site. If you can't confirm it with info from a JC/Equineline site, it's probably not accurate.

'Goggles' are not a be all end all indicator of grey.
The foal is highly hyper-pigmented with no foal camo. I'd call grey.

Ah but how gorgeous would he be if he stayed that seal bay color with those cute little tiny half-socks??? If it was my colt I'd be crossing my fingers he stays dark. :lol:

One would hope. She's 23 this year, Secret Status is 22.

First foal arrives for Medaglia d’Oro’s G1-winning son Astern
The first reported Northern Hemisphere foal by Astern was born on January 10th at Lyn Burleson’s Burleson Farm. Bred by Jack Sims (McKenzie Bloodstock), the filly is out of the six-year-old mare Desperate Chick.

colt by First Samurai out of Bird of Paradise - This is Bird of Paradise's 3rd straight colt from 3 foals. This foal is the first foal of the season for Summer Bird's broodmare band. The colt was born on January 9th.
