It's now likely that he will be voted the Japanese champion (HOTY) two years in a row.
Let's see what he does in the upcoming Japan Cup and Arima Kinen before he will retire from racing to stand at Shadai Stallion Station next year.
If he can win both, he will surpass the record for earnings set by TM Opera O.

I'll heartily second that. I could not be more grateful to Japanese breeders and owners for what they did for the great Sunday Silence.

Wow is right!!! Didn't think he was going to get running room and it is a credit to his turn of foot that even having to check & swing out & dive between horses he got up for an authoritative win!

Orient Charm(JPN), 2002M. Sunday Silence(USA) x Nikiya(USA) by Nureyev(USA), became Sunday Silence's 26th G1 producing daughter, when her son Persian Knight(JPN)[2014C. by Harbinger(GB)] won the G1 Mile Championship 1600m turf at Kyoto on Nov 19th 2016. :D

Orient Charm(JPN) is a full sister to Gold Allure(JPN), the leading succesor of Sunday Silence on the dirt.

I read that Persian Knight is the first 3-yr-old to win the Mile Championship in 17 years...?!? Which makes his win even more impressive.

I also saw this:
Kate Hunter‏ @KeibaKate

Today Deep Impact landed his 1500th JRA win, only the 6th stallion to do it and the fastest (7yrs, 5mo) besting King Kamehameha’s record time of 8yrs, 6mo & 26 days.

Here's a bit of trivia:

Both the Sunday Silence daughters Orient Charm(JPN)(dam of Persian Knight) and Air Messiah(JPN)(dam of Air Spinel) ran in the G1 Shuka Sho, the final leg of the Japanese Triple Tiara in 2005.

-- replay of the Shuka Sho 2005
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8Aa7KFcjXs
1st. #10 Air Messiah(JPN) F3 Sunday Silence(USA) x Air Deja Vu(JPN)
2nd. #5 Rhein Kraft(JPN) F3 End Sweep(USA) x Must be Loved(JPN)
3rd. #11 Nishino Nurse Call(JPN) F3 Brian's Time(USA) x Noble de Nord(JPN)
4th. #6 Orient Charm(JPN) F3 Sunday Silence(USA) x Nikiya(USA)

http://www.jbis.jp/race/result/20051016 ... 1504932591

Rhein Kraft(JPN) won the first leg Oka Sho.
Cesario(JPN)(by Special Week) won the second leg Japanese Oaks.
That was a vintage year.
